[ANN] Update(s)!

Hello, Friends!

A few quick updates.

1. The next book is picked, and hoo BOY is it a ... treat.  Without spoiling things, it: (a) continues our tradition of using an Xmas-adjacent episode to take on a Very Big Book, and; (b) answers the question "why don't women pass tests to get into the Army?" with the answer "evolution".  How MUCH evolution?  "Centuries of evolution."  Prepare yourselves.

2. Speaking of "Xmas adjacent", it's a good idea to make sure that you update your profile here on Patreon with your MAILING ADDRESS, hint.  Hint.  Hint.

3. If you haven't become aware of Our New Thing, please allow me to fix that for you: boosted by the purchase of Exciting New Equipment, which you helped us acquire -- thank you! -- J. and I have officially become a two-person podcast network by "recording and making a show out of some goofing around we would be doing anyway", which brings us to the New Thing, a spinoff podcast entitled "Leave That Thing Alone", in which we talk about Canadian prog-rock stalwarts Rush, album by album.  The second episode just came out, and it's fun, and it's funny, and it's us, so you know you're gonna love it!*
*Unless you hate Rush, or you hate men giggling about music, which is, you know, both fairly plausible and fair.

4. Come the first, there's gonna be some changes around here.  We'll be retiring the weekly newsletter, and the $3 support tier, and replacing them with something a little less time-consuming for me, and hopefully a little more entertaining and engaging for you.**  

The old posts won't be going away, and after the first, I'll change their access settings so that supporters get access to them. If you have any concerns or questions about the change, please let me know privately (Twitter DM at @cfcollision or cfcollision@gmail) and we'll work it out.

**Boring illustration of the issues I have trying to make this work via Patreon:
If you ever got a Patreon notification about a post that confusingly seemed to refer to images or sound files that weren't there, well, that's because the Patreon platform was hiding those images and sound files as, inexplicably, attachments to posts here on the site, instead of linking them so they were accessbile via the email.  There was no way to do images in the body of a post.  Which is ridiculous.  So, I was doing a newsletter thru Tinyletter so I could execute the posts the way I wanted to; which meant (a) I had to manually maintain the subscriber list month-to-month, adding people, subtracting people, etc., which is hella sub-optimal for me and; (b) supporters were getting two emails per update, which is hella sub-optimal for you.

5. I had a long dream this morning in which I ran a small business called The Pot Duck, which involved me making duck soup in a crockpot, flavoring it with marijuana oil (which...might well exist, I guess?), and using a giant 70s Buick to drive the crockpot around to local bars to sell the soup.  "Local" meaning "some seaside town I've never seen in real life".  The Buick had a stencil on the passenger side door reading THE POT DUCK.
