New Backups of BDv21 and Extermination Day... and happy new year.


First I need to mention that Brutal Doom won this year's User Choice Awards on the 1st place. I want to sincerely thank all of you for all the support you gave me this year. This achievement wouldn't be possible without your help.

Now, unfortunately I was not able to finish and release BDv21 and Extermination Day before the New Year's Eve, but I am releasing another beta featuring lots of new stuff as seen on my most recent tweets.
Brutal Doom:
- Fixed several weapon bugs.
- Re-introduced the Evil Marines. Now they can either have a rifle or plasmagun and have the ability to jump over obstacles.
- Archviles no longer kills captured marines, instead, turns them into Evil Marines.

Extermination Day:
This backup features tons of new textures, new skyboxes for Mars and Hell levels, and several new areas (specially a big rooftop fight on Dis, better connections between the end of Dis and the start of Cathedral, more natural cliffs on Gates of Hell, punji traps on Blood Swamp and Gates of Hell, a totally new area on Nuclear Powerplant introducing the new Evil Marines). http://www.mediafire.com/file/jlgvt7f4nminqek/edaytestjan02.zip

Mark pls help, im in PB Discord too and i cant play it, but i recently play EDAY with BDv21 and it works, but not with PB :( (PS: It is really good, nice remake of your project, im glad with it and i finish it with BDv21, but now i have to play with PB)

Weird. I should have created a new post instead of editing the old one. But I will have a new version next week anyway, so its ok.

Hey I think your download link for Extermination Day is bugged, when I click on it it takes me to Dec31 download link instead of Jan02. Copy-Pasting into the address bar fixes it, but just thought I'd let ya know!

I wonder why Painkiller claims it potentially crash ones PC when this isn't the case. Shoot the nadelauncher's altfire in PB into water and you have the same effect. too many particle effects to process and the game slows down so hard it freezes, but your PC doesn't freeze and you can just close/kill the game

It is true, I wanted to deliver the PB devs a message over a long story of trust betrayal that happened this year, I didn't wanted it to be played with PB (as it is stated on the description that it requires BDv21 latest beta to work) on the first public release day. But the message is already delivered, and I have removed the code from the new build uploaded today.

I'm afraid that this is true, I tried running PB with the latest EDAY beta with GZdoom and after I start any level GZdoom crashes. And I also tried only doom 2 with EDAY and surprisingly no crash occurred and I could play the level. Well to be honest PB deserved this after how the PB devs stole stuff from bdv21 closed beta and ported it into their public beta.

Figured it out! I needed to set the player class in the player options. It was set to "Random".

Hey Sgt Mark, that is awesome! I wonder, though, how I can get both the host and client in a GZDoom co-op 2-player game to get the new Brutal DOOM-style weapons? When I play with my friend, he (host) only gets the classic DOOM weapons, while I (client) get the new kinds of weapons (assault rifle, different-looking shotgun and rocket launcher, etc.).
