You watch as Rachel darts ahead through the dense Colorado forest, each stride purposeful, her feet barely touching the ground. She's a silent predator with her silenced submachine gun at the ready as she weaves through the trees, her movements as fluid and precise as the secrets she once kept.

Behind you, Lucas hustles to keep up, his growth over the past sixteen weeks evident in the way his now-long hair bounces with each step. His glasses, slightly crooked on his face, give him a look of intense concentration. He remains right on your heels, having learned how to move through the woods along with many other survival skills beyond what an eight-year-old should ever know.

Max moves by your side, his senses alert to any threat, your guardian during the outbreak.

The last sixteen weeks have been a period of intense growth for your group back at the junkyard. What once was a place of discarded items has transformed into a sanctuary, a haven in the chaos of the outbreak. You've all adapted, learned to live in this new world where the rules are rewritten daily.

As you approach the outskirts of a small town, the road unfolds before you, lined with abandoned cars and overgrown with weeds. The town, which you've come to call "New Breck," bears a resemblance to Breckenridge, but it's quieter now, a ghost of its former self. The once-bustling streets are now silent, save for the occasional groan of the infected.

You can't help but feel the weight of the past four and a half months, the journey that has brought you here, to this moment of cautious scavenging. Rachel turns back, giving you a nod, her eyes sharp and focused. "Stay alert," she says, her voice low. "I know what I heard."
