Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven, Part 3 Walkthrough, chapter 10

Welcome to the third of my Part 3 walkthrough and guide, which will cover chapter 10 based on the currently available open beta. This article will provide the most optimal path while also discussing the impact of key choices in these chapters. Some choices do not have as great an impact but are presented in the game for character building, role-playing, romantic, or action opportunities. While these choices are all important, there are no right or wrong options. Their impact is much more specific to the character you are playing.

I will also describe different paths based on your play style. When I write this game, I try to offer successful opportunities for combat oriented, social oriented, and intelligence based characters.

I will use the same character as I used in the first walk-through, which you can read here.

Mission Setup

The first part of this chapter shows the members of your group still reeling from the zombie attack at the end of the last chapter. If you have a romantic partner, you will a brief interaction with them over breakfast. At this point you hear shouts coming from outside of the Junkyard fence, and Brody asks to go and search for the source of the shouting. If you are the leader of the group you will pick teammates to go investigate with you. Jamie is not around, so if he is the leader, you will get to select those teammates in his absence. You can choose to take Lopez, Bailey, and Tommy. If none of them are available in your group, the team will consist of you, Brody, and Rachel. At most, you can take all five members of the group with you.

After gearing your character, you will venture out to the woods directly outside the yard. If your character has a low Survival or Athletics skill, you will take fatigue and stress hits. After a short walk you will find Gilbert, a lone scavenger who has fallen into a ravine and twisted his ankle. The next series of choices all relate to how you handle the situation. Do you help Gilbert, treat him with suspicion, or ignore his request for help? If you would like to gain relationship score with him and with his group (the Museum Survivors), helping him will increase your score.

Regardless of your choices, he will lead you to a regional history museum by an aerial tram car. Somehow it still has power which actually will be explained later in the chapter.

Day at the Museum

Here you will meet quite a few new characters who are all part of the museum.

Checkers invites you to have lunch with his group. Rachel voices her opinion to leave the museum while Brody wants to stay and enjoy the burgers and hotdogs with the Museum Survivors. Depending on your choice, you will either gain or lose relationship score with Brody or Rachel.

You will get to have lunch with the crew. You can take a hot dog or cheeseburger and can even bring back a burger for Jamie. Not eating anything will raise your fatigue and lower your relationship with all the members of the museum. A minor argument ensues that may raise your suspicions about the members of the museum group. After that, Mel offers to give you a tour of the museum. During the tour you have an opportunity to talk to her, and you may reveal that the museum group is keeping prisoners. Questions will help to reveal this information until you finally see the option to confront her on your suspicions. Mel will tell of the museum group’s wrongdoings, namely how they captured several survivors and have them chained in the generator room. No will lead you to them, and you will meet Paul and Darlene who happened to be members of Thelma’s gang, the Red Mamba Biker Club. You may also see Jude here, the sniper from the convenience store in Part 2. After seeing the effects of the torture imposed by Cruz on these prisoners and seeing how they’ve been deprived of water, you can elect to give them something to drink or even release them from their chains. Giving them water or depriving them of it affects your morality and humanity scores. If you release them, they will move into position to attack the museum group later in the chapter.

From here you will meet Cruz, who acts suspicious of you. This meeting doesn’t last long as shouts from the floor below draw you to the museum lobby. This is when the Red Mamba Biker Club attack the museum. If Tommy is with your group you will need to warn him that he’s standing too close to the windows. You can skip this step if Lopez is also in the group. If he’s not and you do not warn Tommy, he will be fatally shot in the first barrage of gunfire from Thelma’s group.

From here you have the major decision of this chapter, whether to side with the Museum Survivors or the Red Mamba Biker Club. Helping the RMBC will give you a more immediate benefit as they reappear in Part 3. However both will play roles in Part 4. Siding with the museum will provide you with a group close by for trade. The RMBC will only invite you to their camp later in Part 4, and it’s farther from the Junkyard.

The RMBC storm into the front of the lobby, and the Museum Group prepares to fight them. Percy and Cruz position themselves on the balcony. If you free the prisoners, you will also see them sneaking behind Percy and Cruz.

Again, there is no right or wrong choice to make between helping the RMBC or the Museum Group. You can choose to negotiate peace if you have high social skills or you can enter the fight. If Jude lives through the fight, you also have the option of asking him to join your group.

This concludes this guide for chapter 10 of Part 3.
