Long-term mission: Teenager
Added 2019-03-12 02:15:45 +0000 UTCIn our last poll, we voted that a team of Silverthornes would try to capture the teen. In this poll and the next, we will pick what comes after the capture attempt is made.
For this poll, let’s vote on what happens if the attempt fails and the teen MC remains with the group.
A. Having failed planning the mission, the parents are kicked out and show up at the Junkyard asking to join. This may or may not be a ruse to gain the group’s confidence.
B. Having failed planning the mission which led to the deaths of Silverthornes, the parents are tried for murder and sentenced to death. This may lead to the MC organizing a rescue.
C. The parents have lost favor with the Silverthornes for wasting resources on the kidnap attempt. Fearing retribution, they leave the Silverthornes and send a message for the teen to join them.
D. During a battle between the Silverthornes and another group or the infected, the parents fake their own deaths and ask to join the teen’s group.

If your group overhears of the execution of the MC's parents, some of them may push a rescue agenda even if the MC has a bad relationship with the parents. But I see your point. You would be arguing against saving them.

2019-03-14 01:06:18 +0000 UTCI should definitely add in some effects from humanity and morality, though the MC would only be a small reflection of their parents. Still, it's a good way to make it different when you replay.

It's a good route for MCs that have a good relationship with their parents, but it's basically going to be a big SKIP button for folks like me who play their Teen/College!MC as having a poor relationship with their parents. All of the other options at least have the parents approaching the MC in some way, shape, or form. I personally voted for Option C since the cowardice route on behalf of the parents sounds like it could provide the best drama and tension. If the MC does not accept them, then Option B is likely to happen since the Silverthornes would likely find them, try them, and execute them. Talk about a dysfunctional family reunion, huh?
