Dear Flock,
Wow.
What a month it’s been.
I’m just back off the first leg of the LORDI tour with Crimson Veil and catching up with everything…
Incredibly, I’ll be hitting the road again in about 10 days as we’ve been invited back for the final part of the tour. Amazing!
I’ll hopefully see some of you in Germany and Czech very soon.
Here we are looking very happy backstage!
The whole experience was like a rollercoaster - thrilling... terrifying... exhausting... joyful.
I forgot what a cocktail of emotions touring can be but I also forgot how much I need to be on stage as an artist and how much I've missed it. Can't wait for round two.
Anyway, back to my music release for this month!
Time for something completely different.
Are you ready?

I am delighted to tell you that I’ve been busy behind the scenes to bring you my latest collaboration project. I have written and recorded another EP with Georgia Train!
Attached to the bottom of this post is the first instalment (Track 1. Already Gone) of our upcoming EP - Paper Lung.
This project has been in the works for over a year - when you listen you may appreciate why. Since Mankind (our previous collab), Georgia and I both have been busy building extravagantly produced albums - we've worked with a selection of new musicians and new producers and learned a lot of new skills.
When we came together to create again it was clear that we both wanted to ramp things up! No longer satisfied with just piano ballads, we wanted to explore working with producer Chris Stagg to enhance our material.
There are 5 beautiful tracks:
1. Already Gone
2. Ask
3. Precious Heart
4. Truth
5. Sancutary
...and our offering to you today is Already Gone. You will receive the rest of the EP over time.
For this particular song I had a chord progression that I just knew was perfect for this collaboration. It’s pretty, catchy, grows and build, and has just enough swagger to capture your attention. Georgia is wonderful at taking my half-baked piano arrangements and turning them into beautiful melodies and lyrics. I had the chorus hook in my head for days, I just know you’re going to love it.
In Georgia’s words: “This song is a look into my current living situation, as I mentioned in the last blog post, my Grandmother has moved into my music studio for her own safety as she has vascular dementia. This, combined with her way of life and her long-time hoarding disorder inspired most of the lyrics in Already Gone. It's been a strange journey for me, accepting her new behaviours, caring for her like a child and understanding the inevitable. Realising how much of a danger to herself she is and was while living in ignorant bliss. It's been sad...and as with most of my lyrics, you may sense that sadness.”
ALREADY GONE
Little taps onto lungs
Paper bags full of junk
And those fuel soaked rags tied on the door
Silver mouth spilling out
Turn the aching up loud
And you sink through cracks and into the floor
You're already gone
You're already
Gone as I'm pressing my lips
Round your mouth like a zip
And the tripwire's set to trigger me now
It's so fucked I can't move
Through the shit in your room
It's a universe for nobody else
But you're already gone
You're already gone
You're already gone
Got the knots out your hair
Even though you don't care
Put your favourite show on the TV
Gave you daggers and rope
Might as well give up hope
As you proudly love to tell me you know
That you're already gone
You're already gone
You're already gone

Today we got together to self-shoot the artwork... here's one that didn't quite make the cut 😂
As you can see I definitely brought the depth and maturity to this project.

More music coming soon...
