PATREON UPDATE. This month's "things" revealed and a hello from Mishkin...

Hi guys,

Mishkin here. I feel like I've been a bit quiet on the Patreon front recently so I'm sorry for the silence. 

I plan on rectifying that, so this is a little helloooo from me to touch base, check in and see how you're all doing.

This month has been a strange one for me, I've still recovering from the (literal) hurricane of our USA tour and having a bit of a rough time if I'm totally honest. My depression can be a bit of a monster sometimes and it has a tendency to swallow up everything else in my life for periods and I just can't see anything clearly.

However, out of my darkest depression is usually when my best songs start to take form and I think I can just about see the other side now. I'm trying to get back on track and keep up with my workload in the meantime. As they say, "no rest for the wicked" and as you know I am very, very wicked ;)

Anyway, I just wanted to reach out to my favourite people in the world and let you know about this month's Halloween treats I have in store for you...

I've decided to do this month's "things" in patron tiers, as recently I felt I've not had much variety to the releases. I want to say thank you to those of you who are paying just that little bit extra, so I've made tiered rewards this month. 

If you want to receive the higher rewards you can up your tier at any time :)

(NOTE - everyone on the higher tiers will still receive the lower tier rewards)

MARILYN MANSON MUSIC VIDEO (Public)

First up, remember that sick cover of DEEP SIX we did a little while ago? Well we've been smashing it out live on tour, so we thought it best we made a music video for it. This will be out end of the month, as a public thing, but obviously you guys will get to see it first and I'll take some Patron-only photos of the shoot for you too ;) We haven't even started it yet, but I have a latex dress I've never worn... we'll see what happens...

USA TOUR BLOG ($1+)

Finished and edited is the beautiful and hilarious tour video I made from our USA trip a few weeks ago. It includes some rather lovely live performances as well as the usual sillyness. This will be out tomorrow for all Patreons :)

PLACEBO COVER ($3+)

So I've covered one of my favourite Placebo songs "Blue American" from their absolute stunner of an album "Without You I'm Nothing" which was essentially my go-to angst album as a teenager. 

This song is especially dark, (even for them) and it's been speaking to me right now. I made the cover in about 30 minutes after just sitting at the piano doodling around, and recorded in one take. I think it's kept it's rawness and soul. Hope you enjoy.

CALAMITY CUBES COVER ($5+)

This is a song called "Ivan", which we learned whilst on tour in North Carolina. You can hear the original here.

Story goes, we played a small impromptu gig at a hillbilly bar somewhere off the beaten track and before we knew it... the banjos and moonshine had come out and we were singing along to a bunch of country songs. 

One in particular stood out (Garry took a shine to it) and we've decided to cover it... and get this... Garry is SINGING. For realsies. 

Expect more of this to come. One day we'd like to have the band singing in four-part harmony...

MISHKIN VLOG ($15+)

Of course as always my video blog ramble will be coming out a little later this month for this tier. I'll probably include a little chat about what's to come on the new album that we've begun and perhaps a little appearance from George and Henry the pugs ;)

NIRVANA COVER + CLASSICAL STREAMING SESSIONS ($25+)

Technically the song "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" was a Lead Belly song but it was made very famous by Nirvana covering it during their iconic acoustic session on MTV. We've done our own arrangement... hope you like!

Also I've decided that (cos I've been slacking a bit on the streaming front) I'll be streaming all my piano practice this month for your Hawks. Currently I'm learning Rachmaninov and Liszt so you'll get to see how I'm approaching perfecting those pieces... and maybe some scales too haha ;)
