Several of the chapters in Season 2 were pulled from the original story and rewritten. The goal was to finish Season 2 around where the other story ended, and move forward from there. The system from the original story was unmanageable from a writing standpoint. 6 chapters left this season. Half are totally new, the other half are the updated Trek episodes that bring us to the halfway point of TNG Season 1.
