I can relate. I attempted some PID control with an arduino this summer and eventually outsourced it to a separate controller. I quickly found the limits of the arduino Haha
2018-11-01 14:54:59 +0000 UTCI initially attempted to use a PID library within the arduino combined with an IMU, but ended up using the arduino to just do the output channel mixing. It uses a 32bit F4 flight controller for the stabilisation because they're relatively cheap and the PID algorithm and filtering is far superior to what I can code or even what an arduino can compute.
