Changes ... (Good ones)

As you've probably come to know of me, i'm always thinking about your experience here as someone who has chosen to support me and my work.
With a recent change i've made a few months back (around the time of the sokol video), i've cut back on my releases to be able to focus more on being able to tackle bigger cases and release longer videos (most notably with the Anthony Todt, Lynlee Renick, Villegas Retrial and now the Dan Allen commentary) with these videos i've been allowing myself the time to do multiple reworks of the script before moving on to the next stage of recording it.
In the past I would've gone with the original pass of the script and uploaded work that I was proud of, but felt could've been improved in many ways.
So although this new style of working is satisfying to me, it also comes with negatives, the main being, as you've likely noticed, long gaps between videos.
I want to try and fix that so that there's not so much space between releases. I'm thinking, starting from the release of this current video (which should be sometime next week) I'm going to try and incorporate some shorter videos into my release schedule.
This would include both the commentaries and true crime. That way I could likely get two shorter videos done in the same time frame that I would have one longer one worked on, thus allowing me to stagger out some videos in those weeks where i'm working on a big video, giving you something to watch whilst you wait.
So that's it, sacrifice one longer video for 2 shorter ones, it doesn't increase or decrease my workload at all and seems like a better way to keep more videos flowing without crazy long breaks.
Would love your thoughts on this as well, as with all of my decisions that I make regarding this space, i'm always open to input and adjusting plans if there's anything I haven't thought of, or doesn't feel right for you etc etc
Anyway, with that one out of the way, I got a script to finish!
Take care!

Well, for starters, thank you so very much for being here with me! Every person who chooses to be here is equally important to me, but as someone who doesn't support anyone else, I know taking that step to sign up and all of that jazz is an extra layer which could prevent someone from supporting. So I appreciate you taking that effort to be here with me! I love that, you don't have to agree to enjoy. I feel that deeply! I'm a bit of a long video content watcher myself. If a video is under an hour i'll often skip past it. I quite like the 3+ hour videos, something that I can sink into over a long drive, watch over the span of a few nights or throw on whilst i'm doing other things. A lot of the creators I watch that put out 3+ hour videos tend to release once every few months. So I suppose I should stop worrying about timliness. This is all still very new to me, it feels that way anyway. It's been a year now, I wonder when veteran status kicks in ? Ah interesting, well when you say the videos that didn't do so well, that could relate to a number of videos. The three I mentioned in my previous comment threat with Colleen. Nathan Holden ended up doing really well, Jett not so much and Kyle also not so much. Kyle, as you know, I withheld my opinion, but Jett I went all in with my opinion, it was just an unpopular one. Other videos that haven't done as well as others would be Sasha Kraus, Krim family, Ybarra shooting, Marquis Todd and Robert Latimer. Interesting mix of videos, i'd say all of them I put my personal opinion in. The thing is though, I tend to forget exactly what I said at the end of each video after I upload it, so i'd need to go back over those videos to get an idea of what that opinion was, and if there is some sort of link between them. Could be a good research project to do sometime. Love your comparison, the 5 star cuisine haha Hope your weekend has been well, and thank you for taking the time to write to me here :)

2022-11-14 00:23:44 +0000 UTCI wholeheartedly agree with Lucie. I am not subscribed to ANY OTHER Patreon. I loved your content so much on YouTube, your unique approach, your empathy, even some of your choices like the times you decided NOT to express your opinion (Rittenhouse)... I chose to pay because I just want you to have it. You work hard and you deliver quality and you earned it. Your personality bleeds through, your commentary is a unique blend of insightful yet entertaining, and I don't even need to agree with you every time to enjoy hearing from you. I am perfectly happy to wait... I actually tend to skip the shorter videos and deliberately search for your content that is close to or over an hour. I'm curious to know if the videos that didn't do as well were ones in which you chose not to give your personal opinion... I know I was disappointed yet pleasantly surprised by that at times, unsure if I preferred the mystery and intrigue of wondering what you thought, or if I was truly undecided on my own and looking to a "friend" to weigh in... Because your approach is very much like that, like we're having a conversation with you and the discussion is a sort of sounding board... Anyway, tl;dr, I don't mind waiting one bit, it's more than worth it... It would almost be insulting not to have a wait, the same way I would expect to wait an hour or more for amazing, mind-blowing cuisine at a Michelin 5-star restaurant.
