Hello Fellow Trappers!
Let's jump right in and learn more about the lore behind this months models!

The Spiny Thorntail is a dangerous and evil beast found in the Eastern region of Alegis. While many dragons stay secluded only venturing out of their lair on occasion, Thorntails are aggressive and ruthless seeking out small undefended settlements to completely ravage and destroy simply for their own enjoyment. When a Thorntail takes up residence the best line of action is usually to evacuate nearby settlements though sometimes that isn't possible in which case direct confrontation becomes necessary. Sometimes attempts can be made to bribe the Thorntail to leave with gold or livestock but more often than not the dragon will take the bribe but just continue the carnage. Many trappers have been killed trying to stop a Thorntail. Firstly they are very large. Much larger than other dragons their age, growing almost to the size of elder dragons of different species. They have an acid spray that can cover a large area and eat through armor, weapons, and flesh alike. Their skin is covered in sharp spiny scale that gives them their namesake. These scales make attacking them at close range very difficult as it is easy to be wounded by them in the foray of combat. Lastly their tails posses a multitude of quills or thorns that can be flung long distances. While Thorntails have a spiky hide, it is not particularly defensive and a well placed arrow or bolt can pierce it. The best strategy we have found for taking these down is to use long range attacks with ballistae or other long range siege weapons. Just don't miss.

The Sphinx has been a loose ally of the lodge in Alegis for a long time. She does not particularly like dragons especially when they infringe on her territory and she has been known to give information or advice on defeating them in return for favors of gifts. However there is a chance she could just eat you instead so be cautious. The Sphinx is an ancient being in possession of powerful abilities. She is able to glimpse into the the future and is a deep well of historical knowledge and lost secrets. The Sphinx admires courage and despises cowardice. If she senses fear in someone she is very likely to eat them. The Sphinx is particularly fond of Aechelon and has recently started refusing to deal with other trappers if he is not present.

The Cave Hydra is much like its standard cousin but prefers the deep dark depths of damp caves. It large eyes allow it to see in the pitch black where it waits for unsuspecting prey to wander into its lair trying to escape the hot sun. The cave hydra has a thin mucous layer covering its body that is poisonous and gives it a slimy texture. It's front limbs have large angled claws that are primarily for digging burrows though if you get hit by one it won't be pretty. Of coarse like all hydra it has powerful regenerative abilities. It heals at an incredible speed and if it looses a limb it will regrow in minutes. If you can sever all its heads it will kill it but be careful as it can regrow two for every one you remove if you don't act quickly. The best way to deal with them is fire. Fire dampens their regenerative abilities as well as blinds it.

Aechelon the Fearless is a legendary figure amongst the ranks of the trappers and even in the land of Alegis in general. Aechelon was raised as the youngest son of the Felis king, Hesmiod. As the youngest in line for the throne Aechelon never really focused on politics and nobility and instead immersed himself in training for the games of the gods in Vensis. After training for years he entered the contests and on the first day of the opening ceremonies for the games the colosseum was attacked by a Spiny Thorntail. It was mass chaos as citizen and guardsmen alike clamored to escape as acid and thorns rained down amongst screems of terror. It wasn't even a thought in his mind as Aechelon started harboring people to safety and guiding them towards exits. Unfortunately this passively defiant act caught the attention of the Thorntail as he was the only one in a sea of terror that was not running for safety. Aechelon became the dragons sole focus as it began to fling thorns down on him as they embedded in his shield. Aechelon saw a break in the barrage and used the opportunity to heft his spear at the dragon, striking it in the thigh. Enraged by the young felis's defiance the horntail rained acid down burning through his shield and armor. Archelon faced what he thought would be his death with bravery and as everything went dark he used his body to cover a small child trying to take cover from the spray of acid. When Aechelon awoke he was covered burns and barely alive, being tended to by healers at the lodge. Aechelons courage had given people enough time to escape and bought enough time for trappers form the lodge to arrive and drive the dragon off. Due to his bravery Aechelon had saved many lives that day and he gained the title Aechelon the Fearless. Upon recovering he officially joined the ranks of the lodge and grew in renown through the years until he reached the rank of veteran. He is respected and admired by greenies and veterans a like.

Thunderclap was a gifted to Aechelon by his uncle Teramiz after Aechelon was inducted a s trapper. Even as a foal Thunderclap was very quick and his speed is what earned him his name. Aechelon raised him from adolescence to adulthood and they have strong bond. Pegasus are known for being far less skittish than a normal horse and that paired with his battle training make him a great mount for fighting dragons. His small size compared to dragons and quick speed make it so that Aechelon and Thunderclap are able to speed around the less nimble dragons and avoid their attacks. His armor was specially crafted when Aechelon visited mount Osympion though he never revealed where it came from or who crafted it. Some speculate it was made by one of the gods themselves.

Azra has a dark past as many trappers do but her seems to be bleaker than most. Azra was raised in the west of Aleigis where from the time she was born she was trained by the Aljamun to become a loyal unquestioning assassin. For most of her life Azra had no name, she was indoctrinated by the Aljamun to be completely unquestioning and as a result she was told to wear the mask she is known by in an attempt to erase any sense of an identity. Azra was an obedient assassin, taking out her designated targets without question. She had never failed an assignment until one day the mission went wrong and the target escaped his fate. After years of loyal service her first and only failure was rewarded by death. The Aljamun would not tolerate anything less than perfection and they tried to kill her. Azra escaped however feeling ,lost and confused as her world was turned upside down. She vowed to seek revenge on those who tried to end her. The problem was that the Aljamun where incredibly secretive and she did not know the identities or locations of any of their leaders. After years of searching being fueled by her desire for revenge she decided to travel to where the fabled home of The Sphinx was to seek its knowledge and track down those who had betrayed her loyalty. The Sphinx told her what she wanted to know in exchange for a chance to see underneath Azras mask. To this day the sphinx is the only one who knows Azras true appearance. The Sphinx told Azra that the leader of Aljamun was a black Slickscale Demon Dragon named Shomed. Azra new that she couldn't take out Shomed on her own so she went to the only place she could think of. The Lodge. With her information and their help they tracked down Shomed and killed him. After getting her revenge she was left purposeless. The lodge told her there where many more dragons like Shomed committing evil acts and that she was welcome to help track them down as well. She picked up the name Azra the Wind while at the lodge and she specializes in reconnaissance, Sneaking into the danger zone and gaining intel. She continues to wear the mask that was originally intend to erase her identity as it has now instead become part of her identity and she never takes it off. For the time being she resides at the lodge as a trapper, at least until she discovers that Shomed faked his death...

Rhom was sold as slave to become a gladiator after he was caught stealing from a merchant. He grew up on the streets living a life of crime with his brothers and stealing to get by was all he had ever known. In the gladiator training camps he did not do well at first. He was scrawny and weak and didn't know how to fight. He did have one thing most of them didn't have however which was his resilience. No matter how many times he got knocked down he'd get back up. He would train late into the night determined to earn his freedom. Eventually after many scars and beatings he grew strong and disciplined and eventually was pitted against someone in the arena. He was beat down but before the judge could declare the victor, Rhom rose to his feet again. The assailant pommeled Rhom again and brought him to his knees and once more Rhom got back up. This continued with his opponent savagely thrashing him but each time Rhom got back up and each time his opponent grew more and more tired. on the 17th round Rhom finally bested his opponent and began his rise through the gladiatorial ranks. Eventually he earned the name Rhom the Relentless as no matter how much of a beating he took he would just keep coming. He finally won his freedom and decided he would not return to a life of crime. He tried to get honest work but nobody wanted to hire a former slave. As the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months, Rhom got more desperate as he considered returning to crime to survive. One day as he was planning to steal some food from a street vendor he was recognized for his gladiatorial exploits by a member of the lodge who had ben a fan of his, As they chatted it became clear to the trapper that Rhom was desperate and struggling. He told him of the lodge and invited him to come join. Rhom was accepted and is just as relentless facing dragons as he was as a gladiator.

Almost nothing is known about the enigmatic Delphine. She simply showed up one day claiming that she foresaw she was needed at the lodge. At fist they thought she was another hopeful trying to use some gimmick to get accepted as a trapper until she started spouting embarrassing information about the lodge members that was impossible for her to have known. Despite being blind Delphine acts as the eyes for trapper parties earning her the name The Oracle. She can see dragon attacks moments before they happen in far off places giving them a head start to mobilize and reach the attack. In addition to being able to foresee events she is also a powerful spell caster drawing upon the power of the gods to smite down evil doing dragons. She has been with the lodge for decades though never seemed to aspire to become a veteran rank and also doesn't seem to have aged. Some speculate that she is a god herself in mortal form, other say she is actually a dragon cursed to reside as a human. Perhaps one day the truth will be made known.
