Meet Lila, Grimpaw, and Faede the Indigo Fae dragon

Hello fellow trappers! A lot has been happening at the lodge, new members are joining everyday, we have a new discord server, the my mini factory store is up and the new models are here! Let's learn a little more about this months characters.

Lila, Silent Stalker

Lila is a native to Stoica, the home of the first and original Dragon Trappers Lodge. When she was younger she had no intentions of joining the lodge until her eleven village was razed by an evil and malevolent Thorny Hellkite. Her mother hid her in the woods till the dragon had left but her mother never returned. Lila was found by members of the lodge when they came to her village following the trail of the Thorny Hellkite. She was taken in as an orphan and raised by the members of the lodge. She wasn't particularly strong but her delicate build made her quick and nimble and she soon became an official greenie. Eventually as she became a veteran of the lodge her and Grimpaw become well known trackers and many trappers would seek them out on their hunts. Her skill with a bow is legendary and the way she moves through the dense undergrowth is uncanny. While Lila is a talented tracker and Grimpaws' keen sense of smell is big help, there is a special reason Lila is so good at finding and tracking dragons. She has a secret contact, an Indigo Fae known as Faede. They met when Lila took on a job to hunt a dragon that had supposedly been targeting hunters from a village that lay on the outskirts of Mossdel Forest. She tracked the dragon to it's lair but when she arrived she new what the village had claimed seemed unlikely. The dragon was an Indigo Fae and they where typically good creatures but she could see he was sick. Lila approached the dragon and saw he had been poisoned but instead of killing it she spoke with him and learned his name was Faede. He said the village had discovered his presence and had been trying to kill him in order to harvest his magical properties. At first it had been amusing, but the village had soon resorted to treachery. Upon repeatedly failing and having their huntsmen turned into harmless woodland critters they had poisoned the great beast. Lila returned to the village and reprimanded the elders, making them vow to cease their greedy antics. Lila spent several weeks nursing Faede back to health and once he was restored to his former glory Lila helped Faede relocate to a more secluded glen. Faede, full of gratitude, has been fond of Lila ever since. He was never fond of the more destructive members of his kind and so is often more than willing to give her information on the prey she stalks, in return for keeping his location a secret.

Grimpaw, Loyal Dire Wolf

Grimpaw is a dire wolf from the Shattered Woods. A dangerous and savage place, full of hungry eyes watching from the trees. He is large even for a dire wolf but he wasn't always that way. Grimpaw started out as the runt of liter and he struggled to survive. He was cast out of the pack eventually by the other wolves and become a loner. Unfortunately it was not easy for him to survive on his own and hunger led him to try and attack riskier and riskier prey. Grimpaw typically stayed away from travelers in the Shattered Woods. Those who came through the woods where typically well equipped and prepared to defend themselves and a lone dire wolf without a pack could end up worse than just having an empty stomach. His hunger overcame his fear however and he tried to hunt an elf traveling alone through the woods. That lone elf was a member of the Dragon Trappers Lodge named Lila. Lila had learned in her travels that it was often far easier to appease the creatures she came across than to fight them. As a result she would bring extra food with her just incase. When Lila realized she was being followed by a scrawny hungry looking dire wolf she started leaving scraps for the poor beast. Grimpaw ate the food left behind by Lila and as his hunger became sated he grew more and more currious. By the time Lila left the woods she couldn't the wolf to leave her alone. Over time Grimpaw grew to be much larger than his siblings and he became a formidable ally and mount. Though he is well fed now, that still doesn't stop Grimpaw from begging for scraps from anyone who will listen.

Indigo Fae

The Indigo Fae is a gargantuan creature that is part of a larger family of dragons called Faerie Dragons. Most Faerie Dragons live in wooded areas and the same is true for the Indigo Fae. As a greater dragon, Indigo Faes have the ability to speak. They are considered to be the wisest of the Fae Dragons and while they enjoy a good trick they are less inclined to trickery than the other members of their family. Indigo Fae typically keep to themselves rarely allowing themselves to be seen in their true form. They are somewhat fragile for their size and rely on their invisibility and shape changing to stay hidden. Despite their reclusive behavior it is not unheard of for them to befriend humanoids they find enjoyable. One of the defining features of the Indigo Fae is their polymorph breath. Unlike most dragons that breathe fire or some other element to kill or wound their prey the Indigo Fae has no offensive breath attack. Instead the Indigo Fae can release a magical cloud that allows it to polymorph any creatures caught inside of it. This is an ability it uses to great amusement often turning would be attackers into harmless birds and critters instead of just outright killing them. Don't be fooled though. Should you provoke the wrath of one keep in mind it is still a dragon and easily capable of ending the most hardened of warriors and mages.
