#12 - The Plan for May

First off: April has been the best month for the channel yet, both in subscribers and here on Patreon. There was a big bump and the number that I keep looking at is the "patrons" nearing 50. I keep trying to imagine 50 people in a room and that is *a lot of people*. All of which think that my videos are worth some money. I know my channel is still small compared to some others but 50 people truly is unreal to me. Thank you so much to the new supporters. Thank you so much to those who continue to support.

The Bloodborne Project (there's a cool band name) was the most difficult thing I've done yet for the channel. I think the end result was pretty good but I still learned a lot as I went through it. I'm hoping to use some of those lessons when I do the next big step-by-step look at a game. Writing all three scripts ahead of time worked well. I was able to do the video part much faster this time. I think I broke my record and I put together 45 minutes in one day for the Commentary part.

It's the audio that's the bottleneck at the moment and, unfortunately, there's no feasible solution I can use in the near future. The new microphone I got a while back works *too* well, and it picks up a lot of the traffic outside. We live on a main street in Toronto. There's also the baby that some people found distracting in one of the Dark Souls 2 videos. What it all means is that I have a 4 hour window or so from 11pm-3am to record, which I can push to 5am if I talk between the trucks driving by outside. Which might sound really awkward but if I'm close to the end of a script it's okay.

I'm mostly saying this because I think it sounds funny. Maybe one of you will find it amusing/interesting--some of the things that go on behind the videos.

For this month, I'd like to do the following:

1) A 30 minute video on Dark Souls 3.

2) A similar length video on Uncharted 1-2-3, as a quick recap/review.

3) A critique of Uncharted 4.

I don't know how long it's going to take me to do those videos. I've already played Dark Souls 3 twice. I've also already played Uncharted 1 and 2 (but not 3). I have the games already. The HD collection came with the PS4 along with The Last of Us. It's one of the reasons why I was able to justify getting it.

I want to have these videos done as soon as possible so that I have some extra time in the month to potentially look at the new Doom game and then the first big DLC release for Fallout 4. Those will probably push back into June, which also brings the new Mirror's Edge game, No Man's Sky, and...

So basically it's neverending. Which is good! But I'll probably have to let some of these go. If there's a game I mentioned here that you would *really really* like me to look at, let me know and I'll try to prioritize it over the others if I have to make a decision between some of them in the next few weeks.

So that's the plan. I'll post here again somewhere in the middle of the month. Hopefully when I'm nearing the end of Uncharted 4.
