Relistening to this after wrapping up final grading for my online college composition class, and I desperately relate to Cal. My friends and family know not to bother me in the last two weeks of a semester. It involves lots of all-nighters, minimal sleep, and high stress -- much like my own time as a college student. 😮💨🥴😴 Radio silence from most of my students until the last week when suddenly everyone started panicking and wanting to meet on Zoom (with my other job's schedule, they were out of luck timing-wise). I end up with lots of last-minute assignments to grade, because I'm extremely flexible (to my own detriment) and accept all assignments for full credit up until the final day of the semester. And I actually do offer "extra credit paradise": nearly 300 points of EC max out of the required 1000 pts for the class. Yet, I still had nearly half the class fail because they didn't turn in assignments. 🤯😵💫 Always blows my mind, but not much more I can do on my end. I don’t give exams in my classes, so I don't have to worry about traditional cheating, but AI is the bane of my existence. I've given up hope of trying to discern who used ChatGPT; if they want to squander the opportunity to grow as writers and develop skills for future classes and their career, they should at least learn to use gen-AI well effectively and complete the assignment properly. 🙃 😅 Thankfully, the semester is over, and I'm off from at least one job until August, so it's time to destress by relistening to the Caltraxus series and also catching up on the rest of Frosthaven while awaiting the next Cal episode. 😊
