A year ago I started scanning my Great Uncle’s slide film, I made 2 posts and it kind of went on the backburner. However, I’ve finally moved and have settled down somewhat and I’ve just been reminded of how much slide film there is to work my way through - I can’t even put a number on the amount of boxes I’ve got to sift through but I’m archiving the slides as I go along now so I can easily dig out ones I like in the future if I decide to make a print or whatever. Speaking of which, I’ve got a few favourites already and would like to make some available - see anything you like? Get in touch, and I’ll do a fresh scan and tidy them up a bit!
There’s a mixture of Kodachrome, Fujifilm, and Agfa film stocks in here - and I believe most of the photos were taken on his Leica iiic. A few of the slides have dates written on, and the dates ranged between '51-’71 with locations like Filey beach, and Scarborough featuring Paragon C.C Open 25 Mile Time Trials and some initials of Y.C.R.C which I’m guessing to be ‘Yorkshire Coast Racing Club’. I’ve labelled what I can on the photos below that made it into the blog. If you knew James, or happen to recognise anyone/locations in these photos then please get in touch. Would love to fill in the blanks!
There’s another three rows of slides in this box for me to scan, so will follow this up again soon.
