Because I decided to NOT do a US Politics (let alone 2024 Election) vid for the next project, I figured I would go out of chronology this month so I would have an excuse to talk a bit of US Pols all the same. Probably among my fav eps - definitely one of the best pre-JonBenet ones.
UPDATE: So what I have decided to do for the next vid is go ALL IN on making a video on the Michael Peterson case, also widely known as "The Staircase" case. For those of you not familiar, it's one of those ones that's got multiple different angles to it, and subsets of those angles, and shitloads of evidence that's argued from every which angle as well...It's a bit of a head-screw, basically.
So the good news is if all goes according to plan it should be a special one, and the bad news is it should take some time as those special ones tend to do. I'm aiming for a Patreon premiere no later than December 10th, but it makes my palms a bit sweaty even typing that - put it that way! Keep me in your thoughts as I continue to plow away and figure out how to best manage all this material, and thank you so much as always for all of your patience and support :)

With properly explaining Trump to an "alien perspective" there's a big question of exactly how far do you have to go back? I think you could argue a proper explanation required going all the way back to 2008.

Decided to scrap the idea because the cycle has been so unpredictable I felt the chances of a total a paradigm shifting event in the home stretch (even after election day) of scripting was just far too high. The broad idea though was to be a telling of the election in a way that would work for someone who didn't even know what America was. A total alien looking down type thing, really leaning into the spectacle of it all.

I would have to guess: -Biden's historically bad debate performance, followed shortly by his embarassing faux pas's with world leaders. -The Trump assassination attempt. -The Democratic Party orchestrating together to force Biden to step down out of the race, and the last minute replacement with Harris. What else am I forgetting about?

For the record I think Harris pulls it out because I do think polling has vastly overcompensated on Trump voters because they were so wrong in 2016 and 2020. As for me I will not be voting, in a swing state no less, so I hope that makes everyone equally angry lol

Or hell, maybe it was done in their behalf after all. Point is, forget the who. Foster was so very obviously murdered that the suicide verdict is beyond absurd. High-ranking politician whose fall from grace is more embarassing than anything else. I knew the basic facts of Weiner's career and his wife's connection to Clinton, but nothing beyond that. So I learned a lot from the video, like why Weiner had been so popular of a politican in the first place. I guess listening to his podcast doesn't support him in any meaningful way. He completely deserved all the humiliation and career suicide he received. But I guess I'm not someone inclined to holding a person to be unforgiveable for all time (not unless the crime is really messed up at least).

I would love to see more political topics covered, but I agree its best to wait and make videos on these things when there's plenty of retrospect.
