Feel free to submit your video discussion topics to me now. The sooner the better :-) You can leave them in the comments here or message me on Patreon, whatever works best. :-)

Along these lines, I think your detailed reviews really help getting into a game, and comments like “casual mode is brutal” (Rolling Gunner) are encouraging. I found your how to hold a stick guide and recommendation of Seimitsu/Korean sticks over Sanwa/Hori invaluable. Don’t want to hijack Joe’s topic (!) but some general ideas I have for new player oriented videos: easy mods for sticks (like stick and plate that are easy to put in a Hori), easy games to 1cc, and links to survival rather than scoring runs.

2020-01-12 19:08:35 +0000 UTCA topic I would be interested in hearing about is an intro into the world of shmups for newer people, like me. maybe where to find the games that aren't just on steam, how to get into the community and where to find more of it, and what kind of content to consume and make, and anything else you could think of, of course

2020-01-11 15:34:05 +0000 UTCGreat topic man! Yeah I have an interesting relationship with older shmups, so it will be fun to explore the topic. :-D

2020-01-09 16:39:14 +0000 UTCI’d like to hear your thoughts on the “Shmups for an older Gentleman”. Thought a lot about the games that first brought me to the genre back when I was a young single digit age. What are your thoughts on the grandfathers of the genre, games like R-Type, Darius, Gradius, Thunderforce etc. Did they do anything for you growing up? Or was the main attraction for you the 90’s games as they fully embraced the bullet hell.

2020-01-08 18:44:45 +0000 UTCHa that's an interesting topic, sure I'll talk about it :-D I don't smoke anymore, but there was a while where I smoked in college and played fighting games, so I can draw a parallel between my experiences there ha. It's actually a really interesting topic, especially if I broaden the idea out to other substances. What do you think of a video called "Shmup Enhancing Substances, Do they Work?" ha

2020-01-07 18:47:03 +0000 UTCthat's a great idea! I do know quiet a bit about Donpachi, and a bit about Mahou, so I'll brush up a bit more on the history there.

2020-01-07 18:41:05 +0000 UTCI don't expect this to be an acceptable topic but I would love a discussion on if marijuana helps or hurts the shmup player. I'm a self proclaimed fully functional pothead and my two favorite genres in the world are SHMUPS & Pinball. Tracking those balls I feel like it actually hurts my game because of the delayed state I'm in. Do you think it's the same for SHMUPS or maybe I'll just enter a matrix like state and dodge everything although that hasn't happened yet.

2020-01-07 12:33:35 +0000 UTCI would love a video about the importance and historical significance of DonPachi and Mahou Daisakusen and how they were the linchpin between Toaplan/Compile and Cave/Raizing, the good old style STGs and the new generation of the mid 90'-early 2000 big hitters (Garegga and DoDonpachi among others).

2020-01-06 23:55:23 +0000 UTCI love video game aestethics, so maybe a video about the importance (or unimportance) of aestethics in shmups (or games). Can shmups with gameplay flaws still be enjoyable because of their presentation, and vice versa?
