Why League of Legends erased its own story || video essay

IT'S FINALLY DONE.

An exhaustive deep dive into the circumstances and conditions that led to the 2014 lore reboot of League of Legends, supplemented with some developer information and... the uncomfortable revelations of recent articles about the company.

Enjoy! Please let me know what you think, and whether it was worth the long, long wait (it's ok if it wasn't). I'll be putting up the vote for the next video topic soon, along with a general clean-up of the Patreon to make it all easier to understand.

I'd been watching your videos since your analysis of KDA popstar, but after this video I decided to become a patron. Great work!

This was so good! Very enjoyable. Said a lot of things I feel. You spoil us. <3

AFAIK a few Rioters do subscribe to the channel and watch the videos sometimes. Whether they'll see this one or not, I have no idea. Part of me kinda hopes they won't, I don't exactly pull the punches on how bad Riot messed up the lore back in the day... :/

I loved this, personally. But we're paying you, so we probably are all biased towards your content. However, I think there objective talent on display in this video. Unlike a lot of your common "daily" content, this is structured much more like a traditional video essay that you'd see from the likes of Lindsay Ellis or Innuendo Studios. You're clear and concise with your points and evidence, while still maintaining your personality and style that you exhibit in your previous videos. The art and photos used throughout do a good to great job of visually conveying what you are saying. You end the video on a "sour" note, but I think that's the point. Perhaps it's up to interpretation, but I viewed it as "this topic doesn't have a happy ending unless Riot gives it one." I can only hope some Rioters get to see this. Sometimes, it feels like they aren't listening to us, even when they send continents to major fan creators or reference memes in champions. I think this is a great video, and possibly one of my favorite video essays on youtube. I don't think it needs any corrections, but you also know more on the topic than me. If anything is wrong or misrepresented, I'm sure your sources will point that out.
