Sun/Moon Update

Since the mini-series is done, everything in Sun and Moon can be talked about in #sunmoon except for post-game. Keep all post-game, including post-game characters , UBs, etc to #sunmoonspoilers. We we lift the Sun/Moon ban on #general on Jan 1st, 2017. #sunmoonspoilers and #sunmoon will be merged to one channel at that point too. 

Nickname Update

We want to make sure everyone feels welcomed here! In order to accomplish that, please keep your name or nickname relatively consistent to help build our sense of community. We encourage everyone to use their real names. We understand that some prefer using a nickname, which is totally acceptable too. In that case, we just ask that your nickname is consistent. 

Basic Slack Rules

No self advertising in #general. While some of us may be content creators or consumers of content, self advertising can disrupt the flow of #general. If you’re a Twitch streamer, feel free to post your stream in #twitch. If you just made a cool Pokken YouTube video, feel free to post that in #pokken. Don’t spam.

This goes without saying, but saying it anyways... no hate, no racism, no harassment, no spam, no scams, no impersonations, no threats, no violence, no pornography, no gore, etc.

Try NOT to upload pictures or files if you can. Instead, link them! Uploading a file takes up storage and has to manually be deleted (which is time consuming if it’s full). If you found a funny image online, just paste in the link and Slack will still show the picture! It’s a great feature.

Do not post in #announcements unless approved. Move that conversation to #general or the appropriate channels.

Finally, if you have any issues, concerns, questions, or just want to say hi. Feel free to DM @sbj and I’ll get back to you ASAP.

Slack Tips

Slack can be overwhelming. Currently, as of this post, there are about 70 active channels. Here are some tips.

• Inactive channels will be closed from time to time, do not take it personally. 
• Everyone is encouraged to stay in #announcments to stay up to date.
• You can mute channels, instead of leaving them if you don't visit often. 
• Ajust Do Not Disturb settings to fix your needs at night or at work. 
• Encourage use of setting the Nofication Setting to DM and Highlight words (have those highlighted words as your name/nickname).
• Slack only retains about 7 days worth of messages, keep that in mind. 
• Let @sbj know if you should be in Gold ($4+) or Crystal ($8+)!
• Let @missdellaney know if you want access to the all girls channel. 
• There is no official ISE Discord.
• There is a PKMNcast Rabbit room, movie nights are held in that. 
• There is an official Slack app for Windows/Mac/iOS/Android/etc.
• Slack also works in a web browser too!
