Hi Everyone,

Question 1: Leo was looking for methods to find the key of a melody.

Question 2: Conor wanted to know when to move on to the next lesson AND what, in my opinion, are the fundamentals of music and also the fundamentals of guitar.

Question 3: Sean was looking for tips to keep ideas organized.

Question 4: Will was working on figuring out chords in a key in the CAGED System and basically stumbled upon some stuff that I'm laying out in my New CAGED Soloing series.

Question 5: Tasha was looking for tricks to feel inspired to write music.

Question 6: Gregg was looking to expand soloing range - I strongly recommend CAGED Basics I and II

Thanks for the great answer. I missed it initially

Hi Scott, Do you have any tips for keeping ideas organized? What phone app do you use to quickly record ideas? Watching your “ten turds” video, I was wondering what you were using. Additionally, how do you keep all your ideas organized without getting overwhelmed? I use bandlab to record, and it’s pretty overwhelming to have to open it, record a small part and then move on and I just rarely find myself returning to complete a song.

Sean

Hey Scott, new patreon here. I hope you and your girlfriend are okay. I have two questions for you. 1. When is it okay to move on with a lesson? For example, I am not sure if I should be mastering the practice portions of the Major Scale lesson. 2. What would you say are the fundamentals of guitar, or music as a whole. I truly believe in mastering the fundamentals of a new skill, so I would like to hear what you think?

Hey Scott , I wish a speedy recovery to,your girlfriend and hope you don’t get COVID, if my question doesn’t get answered this time around we’ll get it next time, I can usually find the key of a song through the order of chords ( major-minor-minor-major etc . ) but finding the key of a melody is harder for me can you help.
