End of January Update

First of all thank you so much to all of you who have pledged so far. Every bit of support means a lot to me and helps move the projects forward. As it's the end of January I thought I would write a quick update on the progress on Deluge development so far.

This month has been spent primarily on bringing Deluge core code completely in-line with the latest libtorrent release and can take advantage of new features without legacy code holding us back. This has uncovered a lot of bugs and missing Python-related code in libtorrent so I have been helping to fixup libtorrent before finally moving back to Deluge code last week. With the completion of a large set of commits this excitingly means that the development code now will have a minimum liborrent version of 1.1.2 (git branch RC_1_1)!

For the next month I shall be continuing with dropping legacy code from the UIs and implementing highly requested features that affect the core code from the forums or tickets.

I also feel there is still one more release of Deluge 1.3.14 as well with a some quite important fixes required so that will require a brief shifting of focus in the next few weeks.

For those who wish to test the developement code I have created an Ubuntu PPA that contains both daily builds of Deluge and libtorrent, details of which are in the Development section of the Deluge forums.  I may create a poll to understand the Deluge demographic in terms of operating systems everyone uses. As much as I love using Ubuntu not everyone is so lucky ;)

If you have any questions ask me here or in the forums.

Thanks

Calum
