Absolutely possible and who knows what implication that could have for the machinations of the abyss. Since her mother's white whistle had a keyhole I like to think of Riko as the key, and possibly her birth and even the treatment of her soul is by design. What happens when that soul returns to the abyss, living or dead?

While there is no release date and there is not yet enough material for season 3, Kinema Citrus has confirmed they will be producing one. I believe I also read somewhere that they are actively working already with the existing material. Now all we need is confirmation that Kevin Penkin is blessing us again on season 3 and we will have the full package! "The same as mother" I assume simply means she is a human child. "This one's soul, where did it come from". Riko's soul is one granted by the abyss through the curse warding box that she was carried up in.. its probably largely why she is so hellbent on diving head first into the abyss even though she doesn't really expect to find her mom down there. Riko to Wasukyan: "Whatever bro" The show never touches on it but there was a single panel in the manga that shows Vueko and Pakkoyan had a sexual relationship if not more since you get several shots in the show of Pakkoyan staring at Vueko when she returns to the village earlier on. Thus the reason she sacrifices herself to try and remove Vueko from the reach of the curse. Honestly my one complaint about the show because it would have made this scene more impactful. Faputa's face when Reg comes back and joins her while she is fighting the dragons is pure gold. The scene where Majikaja fleeing down into the bottom of the village and we get Vueko's memories, the track is called “Juroimoh Mutation” and yeah its one of the best. It's so fitting that her tormentor's theme song is the one that plays while she recalls these specific memories, too. Majikaja dying and giving his essence, which is essentially a collection of smells/memories, to Faputa.. he says earlier that what he really wanted was a body, not a vessel, but that's not how the blessing works is it? Faputa let him use their body one final time to grant that wish. I was so glad to see you recognized that she took on some of his quirks, clicking her nails together just like he used to do with his hands. I love that detail. Vueko telling Faputa that she is nothing like Irumyuui and then going on to describe her using terms that absolutely apply to Faputa. Shy, clingy, even smooth.. and then Faputa just giving her what she needs when Vueko starts speaking to her as if she is Irumyuui. There are not many pieces of media that hit me as hard as that scene does. Gravity playing when Reg asks Faputa to join the adventure.. "I wanna know, where the people are." and "I can feel that pain of dreaming, of seeing you as a blessing I'm about to take." HIT ME KEVIN! And finally, my favorite quote from the entire show. "The gold that is born of you, is free from the yoke called value." Faputa was immortal and the embodiment of value as she was balanced against the village. She traded that in order to fulfill her mothers wish and rid herself of an inherited vengeance. I am pretty sure that when you were seeing the symbols in her eyes it was her using the three wish granting eggs to accomplish her goal, trading in that immeasurable value to set Irumyuui free. What a ride this season was!
