Here's my problem with Heather's, "new boot goofin" gun pic. Let's all guess how Heather would react to someone sending HER a pic with anything remotely resembling a weapon, in any context. No way would she LOL it away with a reasonable, "well it wasn't pointed at me, they were just having fun, they live in gun country and they felt threatened". She'd claim the pic gave her PTSD, the second strain of Covid, and inflamed her Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. It was great that she came on the show again but this new "Reasonable Heather" character is full of shit.

I do too. He's so underrated. Karl, thanks for doing the Heather call with Andy there - he's the perfect co-host for it. He's a loyal member of the StutJo hate cult, but also follows the "rules" of WATP (i.e. doesn't talk over the clips, lets the guest talk, etc.).

The Death Knell of HDTGM was when guest comedians went on the show and openly admitted to not watching the movie so they just came to "riff". Tig Notoro was the first time it happened but I know it's happened more since then.

I hope this was the end of the HW arc. Enough of that goober.

I used to be a casual HDTGM listener, but I gradually lost interest. JDR was part of the problem, I think half because she was playing up acting dumb, and half because she's actually kind of dumb, or crazy. Sometimes it's like she's mugging for the audience, and other times it's like she seems to really believe the movies are windows into parallel realities and the actors on the screen are real people. Though she's far from the only one with a problem. Like, on HDTGM they used to walk you through the plot chronologically and talk about scenes as they came up. Viewing the movie was not required and thank god for that because I'm not going to take the time to watch all of them. Somewhere they stopped doing that. Scheer hasn't bothered to even try to steer the show in a long time. Now it's more a bunch of disjointed recollections, and even the jumbled messes that are episodes in recent years are constantly derailed over humorless nitpicking of meaningless plot points.

HDTGM felt like it was going downhill for a while but I thought it was the lack of movies and live shows, fuck it, you are right, it is June. I think back and that book of hers is where the show hit the skids. I went to the Space Jam live show and her discussing the book pre show with the crowd was infuriating. A guy who clearly was trying to impress a girl he was with who friendzoned him years ago went to ask a question, and it was a softball harmless question, and when she snapped at him and said men won't even let women ask questions it was over for me. It was a softball question, and he was desperately and pathetically trying to impress this friend, and for her to pick on him, the runt of the litter, she is a piece of shit. I tried so hard to get from the balcony to the floor to join in but was too late. Even my wife said this would be funnier without June, and she likes June from some tv show she watches. This fucking infuriated me today, thanks Karl.
