So yes, the person who is struggling with whatever has to be willing to go through whatever steps to get out of it. But for some people, different forms of media can make an impact on them. Im sure there was a lot on his end he worked on too, but I can see hiw this podcast played a part in it. Doug, and also Anthony sometimes too, are pretty open on talking about past struggles and mental health. Though it is a comedy podcast, they do make some pretty on key points. The comedy part already can help, as having something to make you laugh is a way many people cope with stress. And those times where they do talk about their struggles/mental stuff or give advice (even when trying to be funny with it) can hit at the right moments. A recent example I can think of is the bonus where Ulysses came on at the end. I agree big time with Doug on the point about failed or broken relations with people can cause you to be more calloused to open yourself up to someone or put yourself into a vulnerable position. So while I think it's fair you can say that maybe he shouldn't place all thanks on them and that part of it was probably him and maybe some people in his personal life, I wont take what this show means to him or other people. ...and that's my TedX Talk
