Hello friends,
I hope you're well! I'm surrently working on a new painting that I'll be able to show you very soon. Until then, I wanted to update you a little bit about what's been going on behind the scenes.
In October, I got myself a little garden, and I'm so incredibly excited to get to work there next year! As you can probably tell from my artwork, I love nature, and it's something that I miss so much, living in the city. So I'm looking forward to having my own spot filled with flowers and vegetables, and my plan is to build a small art studio there as well. Doing some gardening and painting every day surrounded by plants sounds like the perfect way to spend the summer. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to do anything to the garden this year because I got it right before I travelled to Los Angeles for Lightbox Expo, and now it's gotten too cold. But I raked a few leaves, and said goodbye to it 'till spring. Speaking of being too cold, we also got a few days of winter here, but the snow disappeared as quickly as it came. I was hoping it would last a bit longer.
Aside from all of that, I've been taking autumn walks, watching the latest season of "The Great British Bake Off" and reading books (I'm currently in the middle of "Little Women", which I've been wanting to read for ages)⸺so, the usual cozy season activities. I love this time of year, but it usually gets a bit challenging for me after New Year's, as I'm prone to seasonal depression in January / February. So this time, I made a plan and wrote a list of comfort movies and books that I can fall back on. Fingers crossed it won't be so bad. And I have my creative residency in Tokyo to look forward to. That starts in March!
