I visited the botanical gardens in Berlin

This year, one of my goals was to get out more, see the world, and just have memorable experiences. I went to Spain, Japan and Norway, but I also went on smaller local adventures. After my burn-out in 2021/2022, I made an effort to re-frame art in a positive way, and to integrate it into my life as more than just "my job"⸺as a source of joy and energy. So I visited more galleries and museums, sketched at cafés, took out my camera out on walks to take nice inspiration photos, and went on these little trips with my artist friends.

One such trip led us to the botanical gardens in Berlin, and by "us" I mean @ameretta_, @iamsarahbuchholz, @cottonyart, and me. In the gardens, you can find a good number and variety of outdoor plants in the arboretum, as well as a lake and nice walking paths. Indoors there's an extensive collection of succulents, cacti, tropical plants, and more. I especially liked the latter: rooms with waterfalls and tropical plants, as they made me feel like I was stepping into another world. I loved the huge leaves, the different air quality, and the water dripping from the ceiling.

But honestly, any kind of greenery makes me happy. We spent a few peaceful hours in the gardens, taking photos, and enjoying the plants, until we were driven inside by the gigantic storm clouds that were forming above us.

Here are some impressions from our visit:

Many thanks to @cottonyart for taking this photo and allowing me to share it.

The were so many bees buzzing around the lavender, but it seems like I didn't capture any.

I loved these tree tunnels.

Probably poisonous, but so pretty.

The whole garden felt nice and peaceful.
