I travelled to Norway

After talking about my trip to Japan recently, I also wanted to take you along to Norway, and tell you about my journey. It wasn't my first time visiting; I had been once before, in 2016. Back then, my friends and I visited Oslo and the rural Viken County. I loved it, especially the rocks along the coastline, and the little villages in the countryside, with their red houses that looked so perfect that you might think they were taken out of a picture book.

This time around, we went further north, to the Stryn municipality, and, wholy crap, I was absolutely blown away! Everything I can say sounds like a gross exaggeration, but I was honestly not expecting the landscape to be this gorgeous. It was breathtaking, and probably the most beautiful place I've ever seen. We've spent a lot of time in nature, exploring the area: We took a ferry and drove through gigantic fjords, hiked up mountains to see glaciers and waterfalls, and walked through mossy forests. It was exactly the kind of aesthetic that I adore, and I must have taken 100 photos of random rocks by the roadside because everything looked special to me.

Unfortunately, it didn't all go according to plan. At the last stretch of our journey, a big storm—the biggest in 25 years—hit Norway and Sweden (storm Hans, thank you very much!), and we got stuck. There was severe flooding, landslides, and all the roads were closed, and there was no way to get to our ferry and airplane on time. So we were forced to extend our stay and just hope for the best.

Throughout the strip, I took a million photos. Unfortunately, they can't quite capture the scope of everything; you have to see it with your own eyes, but anyway, here are some of them:

The Geiranger fjord, seen from a ferry.

A little harbour near our accommodation.

The obligatory red house with white window frames.

A waterfall at Briksdalsbreen.

The sign leading us to a waterfall we could walk underneath.

Some flowers I saw on the way.

A mossy forest at Briksdalsbreen.
