I feel like this piece is pretty important for me, since I'm finally taking the plunge and I'm painting a more elaborate setting. I've always been avoiding detailed backgrounds because I couldn't figure out the perspective or I couldn't settle on a style. But they can tell so much story, even more so than the characters themselves. And I'm delighted to see that painting interiors isn't so bad. It's fun! I don't know what I was afraid of for so long. :D
One of the biggest mistakes that I had made was to start out with a perspective grid. It just always confused me and I wasn't able to draw anything. Now, I just freehand it first and THEN add the perspective grid to make corrections. Works so much better! I could kick myself for not trying it out sooner.
So yeah, I'll be continuing on this illustration, so that I'll have it done by Monday.
Also, WE ARE ALMOST AT 200 PATRONS! I can't believe it! You guys are the best. Really. I know I always say that, but it is absolutely true. You help me keep doing the thing that I love the most. Thank you, thank you, thank you! <3
