Ultimate Tier Opening Method
Added 2019-05-30 23:53:49 +0000 UTCDo you guys prefer first come first serve, or random selection from all entries submitted in 5 min?
This past opening today sold out in about 30 seconds as first come first served which seems to have confused a lot of Ultimate members.

2019-06-01 15:27:14 +0000 UTChow may ultimate tier members are there? I would like to know the odds before I pay another 55 bucks to get a slot that from my under standing was much easier to get.
2019-05-31 04:58:17 +0000 UTCI couldn't even refresh the page in time before the slots had sold out
2019-05-31 04:40:46 +0000 UTCAgreed with everyone else. It takes extra time to fill everything out if you want extra stuff and then by the time you do fill it out well you’ve missed your chance because you were to slow and others were faster. I think random would be really helpful to some who haven’t even gotten the chance to get even one sona made into a pin.
2019-05-31 04:06:05 +0000 UTCI hate having to rush... :(

2019-05-31 02:03:35 +0000 UTCYa agreed 5mins is barely enough time to fill out all the options before the form disappears (still hoping to get picked someday) ;(
2019-05-31 01:32:33 +0000 UTCI'll also say go for random. Most of the appeal for the selective opening with ultimate to me was for a less stressful submission process. Also can vouch for being surprised my submission within the first minute these last 2 times wasn't fast enough
2019-05-31 01:24:32 +0000 UTCWhile I've been able to snag a slot on the first-come-first-serve method, I'll admit that it is terribly stressful to go through. The randomizer does seem like it might be more fair. However, from my own experience, sometimes the randomizer can be a cruel mistress. I've seen people miss out on randomized slots over and over due to simple random chance when used elsewhere and it has lead to some disappointment and/or hurt feelings. I'm not sure there is a 100% great solution, but maybe randomizer for a few months, then see if anyone is just getting completely screwed by it. Like... say a person has been Ultimate for 5+ months and hasn't been picked at all... maybe have a 'The randomizer hates you' 5th slot or something.

2019-05-31 00:57:19 +0000 UTCRandom selection is greatly appreciated, what’s the point of participating in an early opening if its treated like a feeding frenzy and gone in less than a minute
2019-05-31 00:27:02 +0000 UTCIn addition: I obviously don't know percentage of those submitting designs are people who've already gotten pins made in the past vs. people who've never gotten their designs picked yet. But given just the sheer number of people competing for slots, perhaps the majority of slots should be set aside for people who haven't gotten their designs picked yet with only a smaller percentage open for returning, repeat customers.

2019-05-31 00:12:08 +0000 UTCI also strongly suggest a random sampling of anyone who managed to submit within the five minute period. If you need additional colors or want it to be a bigger pin, etc. it takes extra time to find and click the appropriate boxes and what not.

2019-05-31 00:06:34 +0000 UTCI couldn’t even refresh the page today when the opening went up, and by the time it did load, it was already closed. Might be a bit more fair to have the five minute window and then selecting the winners.
