WIP (?) EP - Heart Meat

Sorry it's been a while. Xmas period is a clusterfuck as I am currently finishing a split for Naarm (non-colonial name for Melbourne, Australia) doom metal band Whitehorse (secret between y'all here and me)! At the same time as planning Roadburn and the LP release cycle for the next record. I'll be posting some WIPs of the split as I am super excited in how it's coming along (unfortunantly, my label don't want any of the new LP leaked, so I must be tight-lipped).

In the interim I found an entire EP on my HDD that is semi-unfinished, although can be listened to right now. I've been scouring old HDDs for the ableton files for it so I can finish it off but so far not much luck.

It's "classic" Uboa circa 2018-2019, roughly the same time as The Origin. It's based on some modified live performances (recorded with a zoom H5) with overdubs, very similar to the title tracks of The Sky May Be and can be considered an EP is a similar style. It's cold, futuristic cyberpunk-noise made of dreamy ambience, modern classical terror and bursts of cut up harsh noise. Uboa the way the Lord intended. Unlike a lot of unfinished work, these have vocals (screamed, spoken w/ pitch shifter and sung), although I have yet to find the lyrics.

Instrumentation includes: Mother 32 synth (hence the title), Absynth 5, Zither (Heart Meat), vocals, samples. Similar setup/time to those horrid videos of me on youtube playing at RMIT in the rain jacket (I wonder if I can ask for them to be taken down, as it was me prior to FFS...). Sadly I eventually had to give them Mother 32 back to it's original owner as it had a wonderful bass tone.

I'm still going to try and find the old files and polish them off as I really dig these songs. However you can still check them out as it's some of my favourite unfinished work, and if I've lost the files, these are as close to a finished product they'll get (hence the ? next to WIP).

The songs don't really have an order yet either, so I suggested one, but they are not really 'tethered' together like I usually do. Zip contains the MP3 version if you don't want massive WAVs.

Entity 32 is so fucking good. The first half is downright sinister and anxiety inducing πŸ–€
