Uboa - Love Heart Pink Choker

Song made from various scraps on my HDD from recording my practices. Tried to challenge myself and 'speed-compose' song in 1-2 days, release it here and never think about again. I'll probably do more of these, as its great sound design practice and a good habit to do often so I don't get lazy and feel 'productive'.

Consider it a 'noise diary' - making quick songs around diary entries. It's an idea I've had for a while and I am trialing it here before committing to it. I think it might make Patreon both more exciting/with more frequent posts, as well as an outlet for me to make music that isn't destined for the masses so I can be less perfectionistic about releasing it. Something more intimate and smaller in scale, kinda like a normal noise release. I can't do big stressful highly-advertised epics all the time, especially with my disability. Consider this more ...therapy you can ethically eavesdrop.

I'll tag future 'noise diary' entries. Diaphragmatic Breathing is retroactively considered the first one of this series, as it was made in a similar way in a similar timeframe.

It's properly (but quickly) mixed and mastered. Has vocals too which I recorded on my iphone in bed. It was entirely made while nestled in bed after a bad FND day and a night of bad sleep.

Covers a lot of the same ground (and shares a lot of silent-hill-y patches with) as The Origin (Deaf). Very much a 'rainy day' song, with both ambient and noise elements.

Lyrics are a big trigger warning for eating disorders. It's taken from some old diary poems (circa 2019) I did years ago when I was struggling with that stuff, even more than I am now. They are after the line. The spoken word is buried, so you probably won't make it out without the lyric sheet below.

(TW: ED below)

---

I lick the black mould spores off

the tiles and then stare into my beige,

empty fridge. I don’t have anything to eat so I

swallow valium with expired milk because

I want to be sick enough for sympathy

and starved enough to beg in a well-fitting dress

I hate throwing up but

I love the compassionate hand on my shoulder

when I do

thats the idea!

'noise diary' is a great use for Patreon. Maybe when there's enough 'entries' you could even do a bandcamp only release of the collection
