An Angel of Great and Terrible Light stems
Added 2023-09-16 08:49:40 +0000 UTCI've decided to *slowly* release the stems of my songs, at least the ones which I still have the project files for. The first one here is probably going to be the most demanded one.
All the tracks are there, but a few of them have-baked down FX, although I don't think thats going to be an issue for a lot of you. Can provide drys if necessary, although quite a lot of them sound unrecognisable without their FX chain.
Feel free to remix, use parts in your own work or even just unpack to see how it pieces together. All with credit, but I won't be asking for royalties unless you are super rich and famous (or an asshole).
I'll go through my old project files and see what else is able to be uploaded as a stem. Some I am cagey about - say the ones using silent hill 2 samples - because they are in a legal grey area as copyright orphans. One sample here is a "bluestone assault mech sample pack" which I originally ripped off youtube, however I did end up purchasing it legally to support the sound designers and I believe it can be used royalty free. Be careful about using those elements alone in your own work, I strongly advice you buy them legally as they are not very expensive. Theres a few other orphans around, but I don't think they'll give either of us much trouble.
One thing you might notice is it clips quite a bit. One is that I've included the group tracks (i.e. the guitars are grouped for example), and the group's children would originally be silent in the mix. Depending which one you want to use, you should mute either the group, or the children. Both at the same time will make it much louder and clippier.
I was still getting used to mixing things myself when I made it and even then it goes into the red a bit, so keep that in mind when listening, remixing and reusing. However I think the clipping sounds nice in the final mix, nothing strikes me as harsh about it.
Because of the above, I've included the master bus "mastering" ableton FX rack in the download as it controls all the above somewhat, especially when the baritone guitars pop in. it's sadly not compatible with other DAWs - if you don't use Ableton, you'll need to limit, compress, eq etc yourself.
BPM is 120. Key is all in B minor. Download about 3.9 GB. All are 24bt 48khz WAVs.
Download file is a doozy as there a few tracks and its a long song. Dropbox is below.
Have fun! (or not, given its a horrifying song about dysphoria). If you make something with it, please send it to me! It's always an honour to hear how my work is used, given I myself rely upon sampling so much myself.
More coming soon, insofar as my HDD hasn't disappeared them.

Im 3 weeks late to this but. I don't make music myself, but I enjoy poking around in stems. This song is so amazing and it's just so neat to listen to the parts on their own.
