Next release scope and project management details
Added 2024-03-28 09:26:42 +0000 UTCHello all !
As the project is stabilizing from the very early stages of deployment, I wanted to give you some insights about my project management.
I intend to move on to an iterative development process, i.e periodic releases (probably monthly but we'll see !) and be transparent about the scope of these releases. I might also start doing some polls to gauge the community's interest on what kind of content should be prioritized.
For the next release, I'd like to :
Work on the ManyFans part, specifically
Finalize the artwork in the roommate's stream (color and lineart)
Rework the interactive part which is for now very basic (maybe add a minigame of sorts)
Improve interactivity of the apps, e.g
Add reactions to FaceGram posts (like or comments)
Add reactions to messages (they also might be a way to indicate if the character liked the chosen responses or not)
Find a way to tie those to the gameplay (they might just be flavor at first)
Keep working on the day 2, i.e
Writing first, coming up with relevant clues, then storyboarding/drawings (sketch style)
And finally, I might spend some time on other stuff not related to new content :
New deployment platforms, mostly estimating the amount of work required to make a working Android build
Improving the processes (mainly release and testing processes)
Cleaning up and improving the code if needed !
Do note that if I intend to keep progressing the story, the day 1 script is not set in stone !
For now it's in a minimal state that would allow to showcase the game's mechanics but I most likely will come back to it to flesh it out.
Not sure how much of that I'll be able to fit in but as development progresses, I'll be better at estimating this stuff.
Keep in mind that single person project management is a new thing for me and thus a learning process, but I will always aspire to be transparent and subscribe to a "continuous improvement" oriented approach.
