Kaio: King of Pirates, the lost game by Keiji Inafune before Mighty No. 9

It is not the first, but one of the more memorable failures in Keiji Inafune’s growing history of cancellations and shortcomings: “Kaio: King of Pirates” was announced for the 3DS in 2011, and was planned to not only be a launch title for Nintendo’s wildly popular handheld, but also to spawn an own multimedia franchise with anime, manga and toys. The project was the first game that Comcept, Keiji Inafune’s new studio, should develop. Inafune left Capcom in 2010 after Mega Man Legends 3 was cancelled. Looking for an alternative way to achieve his visions and free himself from restrictions, he decided to found Comcept and Intercept, two new game development companies to work on his own ideas and titles: https://www.unseen64.net/2017/05/16/keiji-inafune-kaio-king-pirates-3ds-cancelled/

wow thanks a lot Irvin! I'm going to fix it

Inafune actually left Capcom before Legends 3 was cancelled and in fact after he announced it in Fall 2010. He handpicked his team members for that game anticipating that he wouldn't be around to see through it's development. You should correct the time period in the article.
