Volume 1 Chapter 7: Second Simulation

Li Xingshan's fist suddenly gathered a brilliant golden light and struck directly at the chest of the Hilichurl Brute. 

Instinctively sensing the danger, the Brute hurriedly raised its giant axe in defense. 

However, Li Xingshan's fist did not stop, smashing straight into the axe's blade.

With a sharp "crack," a crack appeared on the giant axe. 

The Hilichurl Brute's eyes, visible beneath its mask, showed a trace of disbelief. 

Before it could react, the axe shattered into countless pieces.

Li Xingshan's fist continued through, hitting the Brute's face. 

The immense force shattered its mask and the Brute fell to the ground, lifeless. 

Watching the Brute's body dissipate into black smoke, Li Xingshan finally breathed a sigh of relief.

As expected, this time the points were awarded not just for defeating the Hilichurl Brute but also for rescuing the passing caravan.

"Thank you, young hero, for saving us!" A middle-aged man with a small mustache patted the dirt off his clothes and stepped forward. "If it weren't for you, we would have been in big trouble."

"Seeing injustice and acting on it is what I should do," Li Xingshan replied modestly. "But if you knew the road was dangerous, why didn't you bring more guards?"

"You don't understand, young hero," the caravan leader shook his head. "I've traveled this route hundreds of times. At most, we'd encounter some mischievous Hilichurls, but I never expected to run into a Hilichurl Brute. I've heard rumors about increased monster activity near Liyue Harbor recently, but I didn't believe them until now."

"I see..." Li Xingshan nodded thoughtfully.

"By the way, my name is Zhang Luo, a merchant from Liyue Harbor," Zhang Luo introduced himself, patting his chest. "May I ask the young hero's name?"

"Li Xingshan," he replied.

"Truly, your name suits you," Zhang Luo said, taking out a purse from his jacket and offering it to Li Xingshan. "Here's a token of my gratitude. Please accept it."

At this moment, a system option appeared before Li Xingshan.

Zhang Luo's eyes lit up. "In that case, how about I introduce you to someone? With your skills, you could find a good job with my employer."

"Your employer?" Li Xingshan asked curiously.

"Yes," Zhang Luo said proudly. "My employer is well-known in Liyue Harbor, the renowned Ke family. Our young mistress is none other than Keqing, one of the Liyue Qixing."

Such a coincidence?

"Since that's the case, I would appreciate the introduction," Li Xingshan agreed. Without any clear plans for his future in Teyvat, working for Keqing seemed like a good opportunity.

"Great!" Zhang Luo said excitedly. "Please join us. By carriage, we should reach Liyue Harbor by tomorrow."

"Then I'll take you up on your offer."

Grateful for the opportunity, Li Xingshan joined the caravan. 

Zhang Luo treated his "savior" with great respect, providing a comfortable carriage and a hearty meal.

Late that night, as Li Xingshan lay in the carriage, the system's voice spoke again.

"Start."

When the simulator begins, time freezes. 

However, this time stoppage applies to Li Xingshan as well, preventing him from exploiting it for any "bad deeds."
