The dollar stores in my area sell te same food as the grocery stores, it's just beyond its sell by date. If you have the skill, you can make anything from the dollar store. Try making a fancy bread pudding served with a creme anglaise (it is a classic french recipe).

I think the cooking show idea sounds super entertaining - dollar store, a big budget so actual attempts can be made at the recipes, maybe dollar store cookware too - maybe like some actual cooking equipment that everyone has access to (oven, air fryer? ), but all your pots, pans, and hand tools have to be from the dollar store

I think it would be funny to make a recipe from a famous chef from the dollar store, like Gordon Ramsey and Beef Wellington. I'd be down for even Fish tacos and comparing it cost for cost taste for taste from a cheap place near the beach.

Nate from the Internet recently made a couple videos with a very similar premise to Will's dollar store cooking show idea. Also the only cooking show I have ever seen where I watch the videos with zero intention of making the food and just find the host entertaining as hell is "Nat's What I Reckon" on YT, he's pretty much the anti-hero of cooking show hosts.
