Holy crap.

When Cassian knocks on the door of the safe house it is the rhythmic pattern of the warning signal used on Ferrix

there's a pretty wide variety of stars wars media i'm sure there's others you'd like, and others you wouldn't like, but rogue one followed by a rewatch of a new hope would be the place to start either way i think! andor was designed to lead into rogue one, which was designed to lead into a new hope

I like to think of it as a relay race. It takes a whole chain of rebels to destroy the Death Star. Lonnie uses Dedra’s access to find out about it. He tells Luthen who tells Kleya who radios to Wilmon who tells Cassian and Melshi. I won’t spoil Rogue One but obviously the information eventually finds its way to Princess Leia and so on. Without any one of these heroes, the rebels are doomed.

I feel like they have to watch Rogue One at least! Honestly the ending of Andor would feel so abrupt if you don't know what happens in that movie

It also gives me the impression of a clique within the higher offices of the Empire

Thanks for reacting to the show guys. Even though they're different I hope to see Rogue One and at least the Original Trilogy if you're interested. Have a nice day.

why are people always saying this?? dont watch this or that? it would be so interesting to see them react to star wars movies so they coud know the whole story... I will never get this in a million years.. :D

I really liked the after episode discussion! Your thoughts on how Palpatine’s presence is felt even though he’s not shown is very intentional and I’m glad you both picked up on it. You could say he’s a… Phantom Menace

I love the minor detail of Krennic calling Partagaz by his first name, Lio. It’s such a minor detail that says so much. You got the sense that they have a history together and know each other well.

I think it’s important knowing up front that Rogue One is a really different beast from Andor in genre, tone, pacing and writing. It’s a bridge between the down-to earth realism of Andor and the silly space fantasy of the original trilogy. Compared to Andor Rogue is a jumbled, dumb action movie with paper-thin characters that was a complete mess upon completion so Tony G. had to be brought in to do extensive reshoots and salvage the whole thing. I believe that if you go in with “calibrated enthusiasm” you’ll enjoy it more.

It's also nice to see that, yes, Andor really does stand on its own, because while I have always assumed that it would, I wasn't completely sure. This is all the more noteworthy when other Star Wars shows often rely on nostalgia, cameos and easter eggs instead of actually having a good story.

You're probably one of the few people on the planet who basically watched Andor first out of anything Star wars and you need to know that it's such a unique expirience. Like out of the people who watched any star wars show or a movie, you'd probably be in the 0,005% of them.

You girls definitely need to watch Rogue one immediately after. Not because it's so brilliant (although i personally liked it a lot) but because it's the closest, in terms of mood and message, to Andor and it is a conclusion of sorts to the series. I mean even though you don't remember Episode IV, you say you are aware that the Rebels win and that Luke destroys the death star. So i would say that there is no need for you to watch the old trilogy (since it's nothing like Andor or Rogue one, it's fluffy pulpy fantasy - enjoyable though i find it). But Rogue one you definitely need to see it, if nothing else to watch the conclusion of Cassian's storyline.

The way you talk about watching A New Hope (the first SW movie) after Rogue One sounds like you are NOT planning on filming a reaction to it. I think that would be a massive shame! You don't seem to remember much about the movie, and it would be a proper conclusion to Andor. Just like Andor leads directly into Rogue One, Rogue One leads directly into the first Star Wars movie. A New Hope is not the end of the story either, but at least it's fairly self-contained, so it would feel like a natural conclusion. Personally, I would love to see your reactions to the entire original trilogy and perhaps even the Prequels (despite their problems), but I know this is a lot to ask considering how few movies you react to.

Please watch Rogue One after this it's a must 🙏🏼
