Why Your EX Will HATE It When You Move On

1. You’re no longer stroking their ego

When someone dumps you, they often feel superior, especially if you pursued them after the breakup. But once you move on and stop paying them attention, it bruises their ego. This is even more pronounced if they see you happy with a new partner.

The reason it hurts is that they initially dumped you believing you couldn't do better and that your attempts to get back together fed their ego, confirming their inflated sense of self-worth. They believed you'd always be stuck on them.

When you show no interest in rekindling the relationship, it shakes their confidence. It makes them question how desirable they really are. They might have enjoyed knowing you were constantly stalking their social media stories, seeing how great their life supposedly is without you.

But when they see you doing well, moving on, and genuinely happy without them, it deals a significant blow to their ego.

2. They still have feelings for you

Sometimes, exes secretly hope things will work out again, but once you've moved on, they realise that door is closed for good.

Some people are too stubborn or proud to admit their true feelings or apologise for where they went wrong.

This is common nowadays; many people would rather keep quiet than express how they truly feel about you because they think that makes them look weak.

When you move on from someone like this, it leaves them with a bitter taste because, deep down, they still want you. But the chance of being with you again is gone, and they know it.

3. Your life has improved without him/her 

A lot of people lowkey wish to see your life go on a slight decline when they are not with you anymore. So if your life improves a lot without them, they will hate it.

• Maybe its finding a better career 

• Maybe you are making more money 

• Maybe you found a higher level / more attractive new partner

• Maybe you went through a new body transformation and become more attractive

Your life improving after a breakup will hurt your exes ego because you are doing better and thriving without them. 

This makes them question themselves because it’ll make it seem like they were the one holding you back. 

Again, when most (not all) people dump and break up with you, they are hoping your life goes on a slight decline. They don’t think you can have a great life without them. 

It would be even worse when they dumped you and their life fell apart after the relationship but you just went on to do great things. This will certainly keep them up at night which can lead them back into number 2.

But would you really want them back after your life has upgrade without them? Probably not.

Their life has downgraded whilst your life has upgraded and this makes them wonder if something is wrong with them.
