HH148 Reaction

guys…i cant believe the day has come.

i never feel like we finished a show until we finish posting it here so im about to mourn it all over again. this was a show built on little detours where the destination didn’t really matter, a lot of the things are left unfished but there is something nice about that because it means its not really over (we’re gonna be waiting however long it takes for the continuation, be it manga or anime). i really cannot begin to talk about how much i loved the characters but especially our 4 boys, 148 episodes sounded so long when we started it, and now it feels like not enough time to spend with them.

we should do another drunk q&a where we mostly talk about hh and some of the things you guys have mentioned in the comments about our boys, so lets not let go quite yet, we can all just be in denial together.

as always thank you for your comments and all your love, lets all enjoy the little detours to the fullest

Thank you!

Kamil Kapsiak

It was so fun reliving this show through your reactions. There's something so special about HxH, and the friendship between Gon and Killua. Also without a doubt, my favorite moment from ANY anime will always be Leorio punching that deadbeat in front of all his peers :D

ghostvania

You should raect to react to certain fight that happens in the manga

Carlos Gurrola

This has been such a ride, it's wild to think I started rewatching this show along with you guys like a year ago now

Vulhorn

i think the darkness comes from gon destroying *himself* to kill pitou, but killing pitou in and of itself is justified. i think the king and royal guards just cannot be saved, especially not after they already committed countless massacres. i don't personally see myself feeling remorse for the deaths of murderers, who i had to kill to save myself/others. i think ultimately, despite vengeance being his drive to kill her, the action itself wouldn't keep him up at night. what WOULD concern him is who he became leading up to the fight/during the fight. how he treated killua, how he threatened the life of an innocent (komugi), how he lost himself in it. but i don't think he'd ever see it from the angle of "oh this was morally wrong, i feel remorse".

jweher

Your hate on Ging was alwalys so funny to me, it reminded me when my brother and I first watched the show lol and i agree about Hisoka, he never was very interesting to me as well, his dynamic with Illumi was fun to watch though. It's weird to think that you're going to start a new anime (monster) next week... I truly enjoyed your reactions to hxh and rewatching it with you made me love it even more <3

sakurabraus

Can’t believe this journey has come to an end….loved y’all’s reactions and can’t wait for what’s to come!!

That’s why no anime has dethroned this anime as my favorite I loved the characters in AOT and several other shows but something about this show man just has me so locked. I went ahead and read a minor part of manga just because I needed more of them but I truly do hope we get a continuation (just like GOT fans want George to finish 😭) but even if not it’s always an amazing journey and I enjoyed going on it again with you girls.

Justin Spencer

I always joke with my friend that adore Ging, how much I hate him lol I didn't know ppl would take it that personal. Do I think he's a bad character? No at all, one of my favorites even. Oh tysm for giving us more than the reaction, the way you both talk about these characters, I have watch anime my whole life lmao and Gon is my baby I adore him... ty for not demonize him :')

Nino

congratulations on making it through this incredible journey <3 it's been a joy to watch along with the both of you!

wing-yi

Ty for this journey! It's been a joy. Love hxh to death and loved ur reactions :') This show/manga will always hold a special place in my heart! Seeing you two love it is & was super cool, thank you again ^_^

Starfish

Thank you girls When first watched this show I was unable to fully understand many things about it. I had unhealed trauma I didn't even realize, likely cuz I was still in the thick of it. Becoming mentally healthy is something I've put alot of effort into, especially this past year or so. Life is starting to feel like how felt during childhood. With joy and happiness returned. I had emotions I didn't let myself feel. Without me realizing it those feelings went to sleep. Life felt small and wrong, but staying in that space was easy for I knew it well. The greatness of this show is through it's character motivation, and trauma is such a strong force of motivation. Watching with you 2 has been so fulfilling for me. It's like I got to see it for the first time. So thank you.

magi

I am so glad i got experience this journey with this amazing channel I honestly feel very emotional even though i have rewatched this show multiple times I loved your thoughts and theorys on this show my only consolation is that I can rewatch your reactions over and over again thank you for these wonderful reactions.

bibi hashem

Eh we knew Gon couldn’t beat her base form. Gon was saving humanity at the end of the day , I would blame him for Netoreo doings but that’s just my opinion

ForiegnKarma

My interpretation of Gon is that he was a boy of justice no matter at what cost if he sees harm he will deal with it. I don’t feel like thats dark , YES I understand Pitou was changing but c’mon Pitou didn’t heal the girl out of her heart but just under the Kings orders. Not saying that’s progress but why should that matter if it was a mission to deal with royal guards. I can’t agree with Lola saying it’s dark to make that decision because since when is it dark to rightfully defend humanity regardless if it was based off revenge of Kite ( another father figure) for Gon. However yes you can say Gon is selfish & selfless at high extremes but idk imo HunterxHunter is not a regular urban world. It’s literally a killed to killed atmosphere in this universe but I’m not saying Gon is perfect. Imo I felt like Gon was fighting for humanity yes two things can true but I also felt he was trauma dumping on Pitou when he faced her because Gon never suffered a great loss like this so I understand his frustration & Pitou being a born killer I would understand his conviction of Pitou saving komugi at the time. Gon in my opinion has never done anything that would make me question him at all , literally he does what he can for peace in general , the lesson I got from the show was that this is what happens when you give kids nen especially someone like Gon even tho I know he wouldn’t harm someone, it’s the totally opposite he would sacrifice his self to kill somebody I felt for Gon❤️‍🩹. But I appreciate the journey overall I knew yall would like this show , it’s been a great run.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Ging discussion there! You should definitely stick to the manga from now on or at least be somewhat in the loop regarding HxH (not even for reactions sake, but for your own enjoyment if you will!)

Cluy Lala

I could see it being 150-200 chapters. If Togashi really wanted to take his time. The most likely amount will be at around 130 I think. Same as Chimera.

M. M.

Is it too soon to ask for a re reaction from EP 1 :(

nestlerowo

the anime didnt mention that gon has no nen because gon doesnt know yet he finds that out in the manga

caleb

I like how the anime had such a good stopping point/ending. First episode, goal was Gon to meet his dad. Last episode he meets his dad in earnest. The anime told a complete story even though there's another story to be told/continued in the manga.

A

I've discovered HxH as a teen and at the time it blew my mind and became one of my favorite stories. A decade later, it didn't change. I still love this story so much, regardless if it will ever be finished because I think it's that special. I feel like it will always be dear to me. That's why I enjoy experiencing it again when I watch reactors like you and it's always so fun to see new people fall in love with HxH. Thank you for giving this story a try and for how passionate you are.

beautiful reaction to the finale of a beautiful anime :')

Gin as a hunter made one big mistake and that is to be a father. Gin knew of the Dark Continent when he was a teenager same age as Gon, Perhaps he even read the chronicles, He knew his potential from a very early age. He achieved so much at such young age, In the hunter world, power and strength is not enough. Even Netero acknowledged that when he talked with meruem. To be a top 3 hunter you need, Power ,connections, Alleys, Intellect, Talent, Intelligence, Underworld knowledge Gin has all of those to qualify to go to the Dark Continent. The rate of people that qualify just to go or survive are less than 0.05. Knowing this i still dont understand how Gin when out of his way to have a child with a women, Gin has train himself to not have emotional attachment with people he meet, for the sake of the people and for his own sake, Thats one of the requirements to be a top hunter, Thats what Netero did as well. In orderd to qualify Gin had to get rid of emotional attachments, His family, friends. If Gin would had taken Gon with him from the very beginning, Gon would had suffer with Gin way more, Gon had a relative good childhood with mito, and he was presented with a chooise, Gin never forced Gon to become a hunter in Fact he wanted Gon to live a normal life, because Gin knew how cruel the world can be. Most of the times that Gon got hurt it was because his own selfish attitude. Greed Island was a training for Gon, Gin Overestimated Gon, He thought Gon would be smarter , He was comparing what he achived at the same age as Gon, While Gon was playing Games at the same Age Gin was doing far greater things. Gin going to the dark Continent is selfish, but with rewards that can change the whole world for the Good, helping millions of people. Gin was a bad father for: Number 1 Having a kid knowing his own ambitions and potential and goals. Number 2: Abandoning His Kid at a very Young age yet he left him In a relative Good home. I Have a feeling that Gon would had done the same if he was presented with a similar opportunity in Fact Gon quickly turn against Killua, he Was ready to kill an innocent person, We will never know perhaps his chooise. This show always play with morals whats right and whats wrong depending on the Goal.

EclipseDeluna

It's actually over. 😭😭😭😭😭😭 This was one detour I will not forget.

Blessèd

you should check the show out! they're great characters!

Vincent Samuel Price

The last scene when gon is together with Kite and others, is for the promise they made in episode 92 or 93 Spin(the girl always chewing gum in Kites Group)told Gon about her backstory and said when everything is done, go to watch the birds in her hometown together. That's what they are watching at the end

RI RI

We need the girls to watch Yu Yu Hakusho. Hunter x Hunter is Togashi’s magnum opus, but YYH is togashis first successful manga that influenced a whole generation of anime just like HxH. The friendship between Gon and Killua is unmatched, but I believe the 4 man squad dynamic is stronger in YYH than it is in HxH, and that’s saying something considering how amazing the main 4 of HxH are. Togashi is an amazing mangaka with 2 GOAT series under his belt so I can only hope it somehow wins a poll one day so the girls can react to Togashis first masterpiece. Plus the English dub is top 5 all time .

melo

If you loved HxH as much as you appear to have then I really think you should take the dive into the manga, which is read top to bottom right to left btw (so you start top right, then move down to the bottom right, and move left from there back to the top). The current arc is unfinished, and its probably not even halfway done but if you wait for it to finish you might be waiting for 5-10 years and the content we have in this arc so far is amazing. If it was to be animated there is probably enough content for around 30 episodes. Its a very detail oriented arc with a ton of stuff to pay attention to that lends itself well to re-reads, so its always fun to read it all again whenever new chapters are released. If you want to see more of characers like Kurapika, Melody, Illumi, The Phantom Troupe, and meet some new characters that you will love then you should really just dive into it and have a great time. My opinion on it is that waiting for a conclusion is not worth it because it might never be concluded, and we should just be happy with what we get.

Shrump

It would be great if they animate also the childhood of Kurapika. It was published as a two parts one-shot

refo44

I remember vividly when this episode aired back in 2014, I never felt that empty for an anime considering how good the adaptation was. Thank you so much for making it to the end, it was a fantastic journey with you girls. Inc ase you would like to give an opportunity to the manga you would need to read from 340 onwards and in case you do it we would like to see if you can read it on video :P

Replicant

thank you guys for the journey, I have been there since the beginning, this anime means so much to me I so glad I was able to share this rewatch with you its really was the absolute best

atoure32

What is worrying me about this Succession arc is that there are so many story branches open right now that Togashi needs to start closing just for this particular arc, making it seem like the story is not even halfway to the conclusion of the arc.

refo44

thank you girls ❤

Gabriel Toledo

i just finished hxh this year and my only regret was not starting it sooner. easy to see how its influenced anime/manga of the last 2 decades from character designs, to certain tropes and arcs etc. and yet at the same time nobody else quite replicates togashi’s unorthodox style. with good health maybe in a few years we’ll all be right back here 🫡

Sebastian

Thank you for sharing this journey with us. Now to re-watch for the 100th time.

Donovan Jeffery

Okay, I thought they mentioned it on top of the world tree, but it might have been afterwards and ging merely mentioned something about gon's nen being he was with him at the world tree.

Veya

If you're still wondering why manga is right to left, it is because of how Japanese is written lol Japanese can be written left to right horizontally, like English, or top to bottom vertically, which is more traditional. And when it is vertical, the lines go right to left, which is why manga (and regular books) are right to left

LKosaka

god i still remember dropping everything and jumping all over my room when you uploaded the first episode it was such a pleasure experiencing this anime all over again with you ❤️❤️

alon

I will always love this anime and ill be waiting on my phone until a new season.

Angel

Just like what Ging said. I've enjoyed all the discussion here in the comments section together with Lola and Milena. What a journey. It has been great, folks.

Kevin Inoj Perez

Many thanks for reacting to this guys. Seeing the notifications for it every week on my phone gave me the nostalgic feeling of watching shows back in the day. I rarely, if ever consume media like that anymore. Hopefully something on the new poll can fill the void that this shows going to leave.

Space Mechanic

I agree with it, this is the reason why I said not just a revenge instead of it wasn't a revenge, if he didn't kill Pitou he would have died. I'm saying that he doesn't necessarily need to feel bad about killing her since Milena made a distinction between Pitou and the ant he killed previously and she said that with the other ant it was a situation of life or death and it was a fight. Both were and Gon knows it, the main difference is that the ant didn't care about anyone while Pitou deeply cared about the king. It's a weird question but I'll answer to it. So, Gon remembering Kurapika, Leorio and Killua when Ging says that the relationships he built were more important than unveiling the secret of the tomb; when Ging tells Gon that between the time they'll meet again he has to enjoy the little detours to the fullest because there he'll find things more important than what he wants; Ging laughing with Gon; Meruem holding Komugi's hand; the 2nd time Kurapika appears in the outro and Ging saying again the quote at the end of this show

HgPt

Kurapika and Leorio is part of the main cast and many ppl loved them. So it’s quite normal to get emotional I think?

Ashley hui

They’re certainly unique reactors. For example I’ve never seen any reactors actually despise Ging as much as they do. But I do appreciate their love for the big 4 :)

M. M.

Like I said in another comment, it wasn’t omitted. The loss of nen is discussed post anime when Gon is back home. The conversation technically occurs in the Dark Continent expedition arc. The anime ended at the perfect spot and didn’t omit that.

M. M.

LMFAO this isn't something I ever thought I needed but now I can't unthink it. Or like...what if they open a P.O box and we send her all the Ging merch....Mugs, shirts, posters, pillows. Lol

Harfie

Nen is the life force. Nanika has healed him so that gon is back in default mode like any normal person. If Gon chooses to, he can open up his pores in whale island by the long and safe method which zushi used, just by meditating. Gon would probably do it much faster than Zushi’s 3 months though like maybe in a week or two. And he may even learn new nen abilities rather than the dull rock-paper-scissors, it remains to be seen if togashi will even get to that point after current arc.

Aglio Olio

Im glad you posted that video, it is such a good trailer for the Succession Contest arc! I pray Togashi gets to at least finish this arc, because with waht is being built up I bet it's going to be another Chimera level masterpiece

Billy Overlord

petition to have Lola cosplay as Ging

Ben G

Thank you both for allowing us to take this amazing journey with you. No matter how many times i take it, its always very special

Jonathan baez

It should be stated in the manga that Mito makes Ging give Gon up, so the situation is quite a bit different because of them omitting it haha.

TheIcedPeanut

Also pretty sure most people commenting on the hatred towards ging were not actually under the impression you guys thought ging was worse than the phantom troupe or hisoka (hisoka didn't have a sad backstory that we know of as well). People were more commenting on the excessiveness of it especially considering how similar ging and gon are and how the show beat us over the head with that fact (including this very episode). Also the phantom troupe aren't portrayed as just typical killers with a sad backstory (a backstory that's still pretty vague in the anime). They GLEEFULLY kill people, feitan and phinks literally have a contest about how many people they can kill in greed island. That's some WW2 imperial japan stuff. It's just really disproportionate. Leaving the gon w/o nen stuff out of the anime is just weird. It would be a good reminder that his CA stuff had real consequences since some people would probably already complain about how he was healed and how kite was reborn. Not sure why it was omitted.

Veya

All things considered, this was a good last ep and does a good job highlighting the essence of adventure and the core of ging and gon's character and I'm glad they didn't go the common sentimental route in terms of gon asking why ging never stayed or saying he needs him. It was still moving in spite of that with a good life message. I did find myself thinking again, whenever they flashed back to kurapika and leorio, that...we barely got time with all four of the main characters together so it didn't hit me the way it may have hit some of the others. I know kurapika and leorio are the present in the next arc and gon and killua are absent so it seems like that trend is continuing. I'm also not too convinced with the open to interpretation thing about everything. Some things, absolutely, but not everything that's underdeveloped or underwritten can just be hand-waived like that, because that could basically apply to every story in any medium. Maybe those things were in the author's head/maybe not, but it does take more effort and skill to put it down on page, especially if it's not just gonna be exposited through flat monologues. Also, these types of interpretations could still happen with things that are more fleshed out, it would just be on top of more details. Agreed that a future story visiting gon or killua and seeing them *actually* deal with what went down during the CA arc would be nice, even as adults or older teenagers or w/e. Idk if it's gonna happen given how sprawling togashi likes writing this story but it would be a good route to go down. Also hope that kurapika gets more depth in the manga as I know he's the current MC in the current arc. He always had a firm motivation (mostly revenge basically) but there wasn't much internal conflict over something so heavy like that until the very end of the yorknew arc where he chose to save gon and killua over it, but it's still something that could use a lot more texture and fleshing out. I think they're starting to hint at something deeper with how secluded he seems to be at the end so I think that's a good sign. And it's nice they included meruem and komugi in the ending montage. One of the most acclaimed and unique parts of the entire show. The CA arc is the only one that felt closer to a seinen than a shonen and it's a very memorable arc in general.

Veya

really? I love the color version

Ben G

this anime for me will never be topped! I've seen so many amazing animes but the feeling this one gave me is like no other.

StrawHat

This was quite a journey, it was really fun to rewatch the show with you girls, even though my views and opinions are usually really different than yours lol. But I always like the depth of your discussions and how invested you are in most characters. I think you should definitely give the manga a chance too, and maybe the 1999 version, it's super underrated. For now I'll be unsubbing since I've no interest in the current shows you are watching, but I'll probably be back at some point. Take care!

Kizaru

I post this a lot but in honor of HxH can the next poll for this replacement be a majority vote? Like start with 8 shows, if there is a show that does not get more than 50%, have a run off? Like top 4? then top two?

David Salazar

Cool reaction and all, but I will never understand their obsession with kurapika and leorio. It's so weird to me that they instantly cry at a single scene of them, that lasts like one second. Never seen that before

hellios6

Yeah you're kinda right, but I feel like the anime will do a good job in presenting everything in a more concise way than the manga.

Max__

If I want to estimate, if somehow Togashi finishes this arc or nears it, I can see the anime coming back in 5 years. But…! My one of my hopes is that Departure isn’t the OP. It just isn’t appropriate for this arc and I was never a fan but can acknowledge it fit Gon’s journey towards Ging. Not necessarily the journey to the dark continent. I also hope they add more ambience, and be creative in depicting the setting. I want tier 1 of the ship to be clearly differentiated from tier 5 for example. Better lighting, more shots of the environment, fancy soundtrack etc.

M. M.

I wouldn’t call it cowardly. It was desperate. Btw, what did you find emotional about this reaction? I’m curious.

M. M.

The coloured manga looks awful. Togashi’s original black and white is much better.

M. M.

That's a good point, I didn't think of that.

Shivering King Banana

Maybe unpopular opinion, but I don’t think the succession war will really have mainstream appraisal. It’s too dense, too many characters etc. It’s an arc that benefits from multiple rereads (and I guess rewatches when the time comes), and for HxH nerds like me, I’m eating good. It’s my favourite arc. For someone who may watch week to week, I think it’ll be pretty easy to get frustrated at the new characters introduced frequently, the new plot lines and facts introduced frequently etc, because it’s hard to keep track.

M. M.

Gon losing nen is canon. The reason the anime didn’t mention it is because this was confirmed AFTER the chapters covered in E148. The people telling you about Gon’s nen were literally just spoiling you. This wasn’t a fault of the anime adaption. Gon’s nen issue is discussed very soon after the events of the anime.

M. M.

But nen is the life force of a person, we can guess the reason Gon is unable to use Nen is because of himself and his inner struggle. We don't know yet what Togashi will do about that but we can speculate at some point Gon will recover his nen.

refo44

When Gon made his Nen pact he offered everything, including his Nen, like you said. When Nanika healed him, Killua didn't tell her to bring back his Nen.

Shivering King Banana

well said

Stevenmcd4

Damn, it was a really good journey. I first watched HxH when I was 10, I loved it so much that it became my favorite anime. Then a few years later the 2011 version came out, I loved it even more. From that day I rewatched this show and read the manga multiple times, and it never gets old. Watching again with you girls was one of the best experiences. I'm sure a new anime will come out in the future covering the events that follow in the manga. The next arc is the shit, I know Chimera Ant was crazy but the next one is my favorite until now. So many things happen, so many new characters are introduced, so many politics, and the power system gets even crazier, and I feel like the meat of the arc isn't even released yet. It's crazy, it's the only thing I'll say. But anyway, I hope we all can reunite again to watch HxH continuation, I have faith this day will come. Peace out! Enjoy the little detours to the fullest!

Max__

See you when Arcane comes back. The only other show I’m willing to watch reactions for.

SoClose

I will be waiting for that drunk QA ladies and also see yall for Monster is next ;)))

Jack SV

Thank you for allowing us to join you on your journey. It's meant more to me than you could ever know.

YawnSong

If u want to continute it starts and chapter 340 through to 400 - so 60 chapters - 40 of which have been coloured and you can read it on mangaseeonline. Some of the current arc is almost unreadable if you ask me - Togashi goes into way-the-fuck too much detail with Kurapika theorising things, so yeah, deeper in, it will be a SLOG at some points to get through but worth if like the troupe, Hisoka, and Kurapika.

Ben G

It was a revenge because of Gon's intention's. He didn't make his Nen Pact that almost cost him his life to defend himself, he made that pact to kill Pitou.

Shivering King Banana

this is the manga trailer i love lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfv-VaaAlxc

YawnSong

I might sound cold commenting the review but many times I get emotional with your reactions and I don't say anything, and of course it did happen in this episode too. I want to remind you that Pitou said to Gon that she had to kill him and was Pitou the 1st one to attack, and she did it cowardly from behind. That was a fight too, not just a revenge

HgPt

Current content is half a Chimera Ant arc in length. CA was 133 chapters. Post-anime has 60 released chapters. Togashi has finished another 20 but won't let us peek until he's good and ready lol. He updates his progress daily on Twitter, so many of us are excited. Personally, some of the best content in the series is in these chapters, so I emphatically encourage anyone interested to start reading!

Isaac

Don't worry I'm sure there is a really chance for them to react to One Piece anime Remake.

refo44

same here its actually a great quote to live by !

Amber

I'm not crying you're crying. ; ; Thank you for allowing us to go through this wild ride again through you guys. Let's hope for the continued good health of Togashi-san and for the eventual next anime. After Yu yu Hakusho I'm sure no one will dare to try and rush him so as long as he has good health I trust him to see it through.

Junkboy

Thank you for watching this show, I think most of us got to rewatch and relive it through you two and it was such a special time. What a beautiful ment you wrote too. I think most of us here will be very happy to see you continue with the manga but also understand if you wanna wait for a potential anime return! The journey isn't over 🥺

Amber

Well here we are. Not ‘The End’ but ‘An End’, and hopefully with Togashi working as consistently as he has been recently, we will reach that true conclusion someday. I’m so glad you two enjoyed HXH as much as you did! This reaction series was the excuse I needed to rewatch this show for the first time since I watched it in 2019 where I binged it. Going week by week with you two has made me appreciate this journey all the more. Every week I looked forward to two more episodes and two more reactions, and I just know I’m gonna miss this routine a lot. These are the best reactions I’ve seen to this show, but honestly I could say that about just any series you cover. Thanks for the year and a half of entertainment! …can’t wait for Monster to win that poll 😂

Darrach

thanks for this beautiful journey, no words I love hxh so much, now I will go to a corner and cry ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

karina

Thank you Milena for saying at the end you’re interested in monster as well and the haikyu bit is mostly a meme at this point. I don’t feel as bad voting for monster now 😂 so sad the hxh journey is over it honestly flew by 😭when you first started it felt like it was going to take ages but it doesn’t feel like that long ago. So many emotions in this episode ❤️ also it would be fun to watch a drunk Q&A! The last one was really fun to watch!!

Kaycee

I'd love to see a drunk q&a with you guys! I haven't seen any you did previously but it sounds like lots of fun

blobloble

I interpret it this way too 🙌🏻

Lau

Hi Milena and Lola. I've to say thank you for watching HxH all this time. I really enjoyed this little detour at fullest. I've been following you for a couple of years and I really enjoy so many shows with you and I am grateful with you, because when I've had a bad day and come to my house and see that you post a video I feel really happy. Now you've seen 2 of my 4 favorites anime. AoT and HxH. The others two are One Piece and Clannad. I know that you never gonna react to One piece anime in this channel but I'm content that you reacted to live action. And I still hope that in the future you will react to Clannad because I know you really gonna love it. And if you ask me, my top 5 characters of HxH is: 1. Kurapika 2.Killua 3.Gon 4. Leorio 5.Meruem 6.Hisoka I know that it isn't a top 5 but I have to put Hisoka on there hahahaha I really love you girls, please never stop to do reactions. Greetings from Honduras🇭🇳 And sorry if my english is not than good.

Kevin Ricardo

I'm all for drowning our sorrows with a drunk q&a

HenryM

Thank you girls for this journey and of course Togashi, I pray he stays healthy and recovers.

Chinese rice

I think another way of looking at it is that Gon is a 12 year old boy and doesn't have the emotional maturity to be able to process the absence of a father figure, and so he approaches it with the simplified mentality of "my dad wanted to be a hunter so he left to go do that instead." That's just my interpretation based on where Gon is left in 148, who knows where his story goes from here.

ridleymon

I believe this show is written by a higher consciousness through Togashi; well, they're one and the same. Here's a compilation of notes and the lessons from this pass <3 Gon and Killua's journey and friendship embody the idea of finding meaning and growth through shared experiences and 'detours.' Gon's relentless determination to find Ging mirrors his father's pursuit of the unknown, as he, too, gives things up impulsively and behaves in a morally ambiguous way to achieve his goals. Killua's transformation from a friendless assassin to a devoted friend and protector reflects the transformative power of love, friendship, and connection. Killua Suki Remember when Leoreo was like 😜😝😠🚫🛹 then Gon and Killua locked eyes for the first time and the girls screamed: "THEY LOVE EACH OTHER!!!" :D Speaking of love, my boy Kurapika wants vengeance, and that "chains" him both literally and metaphorically, he's channeling grief and determination to exact revenge, and at its core; that too is an energy of love for his clan and for the world. This quest contrasts sharply with Leorio's altruistic ambition to become a doctor and help those in need. My number one boy is Leorio. Homeboy just wants to help people, yeah he's pissed off at half of them, but he just wants to alleviate suffering, the noblest of all missions, no wonder he got along with Zepile, who was also giving and supporting to our boys during the Yorknew City arc. Despite their different paths, one of retribution and the other of healing, they both strive to make the world a better place in their own way. Ging embodies the human desire for freedom and understanding, as his pursuit of mysteries and appreciation for life's unexpected journeys challenge us to examine the nature of true freedom. His paradoxical character, both inspiring and ethically questionable, prompts us to reflect on the balance between personal growth and social obligations. His story invites us to consider how our choices shape not only our own development but also the interconnected world around us, ultimately exploring themes of identity, freedom, and the blurred lines between self-fulfillment and responsibility. Netero, rest in peace, you dirty old bastard. 心 His relentless pursuit of ultimate power to protect what he loves and what he's grateful for, dedicating his life energy to martial arts and mastering Nen, made him win every single fight in his life. Komugi's total dedication to Gungi, even in her sleep, was her identity, reality, and power. Their stories highlight how unwavering focus and dedication can overcome raw power, contrasting with Meruem. Born into a role of power and dominance but with his life energy not fully in it, Meruem's encounters with Komugi and Netero gave him unexpected detours of his own and shifted his focus from power to empathy and self-reflection. Komugi taught him to 'see more possibilities' in life and how to 'choose and navigate them consciously.' :) Attention, awareness, consciousness, focus, and consciously choosing and reforming our thoughts, feelings, and actions are our life force, the purest and most powerful form of Nen. Hunters use Nen techniques like Ten, Zetsu, and Ren to shape their abilities, but the focused human attention, consciousness, and life energy on technological advancements, as seen with the Poor Man's Rose defeating Meruem, demonstrate that technology can surpass even the strongest known Nen user. What we've seen on the show are only applications of Nen, not the entirety of it; Nen is so much more, and it exists in real life as the focused cultivation of attention and awareness. Energy flows where attention goes, and this is Togashi's greatest gift to us all. Humanity is messy, and we have to trust life and ourselves as everything unfolds, but I believe in us because we're fucking awesome. The Tonpas of the world need healing; let us use that limitless Nen energy for more life, love, and compassion rather than on Poor Man's Rose technology. 🍉 Jessica & Sophia, re-experiencing this masterpiece through your eyes has been incredible. You taught me so much; your loving and empathetic nature shines brighter than Zero Hand. Your genuine reactions and discussions have deepened my understanding and resonated with me, making me more reflective and compassionate. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and emotions. Keep shining your light and don't ever forget that bungee gum possesses the properties of both rubber and gum! Hunters, what a beautiful journey we have shared. We cried together, we laughed together, and we learned so much about emotions and humanity from each other. I love you all infinitely, and I can't wait to read all of your comments and stories. I'll see you on the next run! Thank you for existing. 💜

Sam

Congratulations on finishing this beautiful journey. This is easily one of the best reaction series ever made, I'm going to miss this.

Kor of the Son

It was wonderful to watch this story with you two all over again! So glad this journey's been a great one to remember

BluTsunami

been here since ep 1 what a journey

V

I saved the last 2 episodes to watch alongside you girls. It's been quite a journey. Watched every min of the 148 episodes. Been fab.

Kurapika's last scene there is even more sad once you learn what his internal thoughts were around that time https://imgur.com/a/2Ajcwmb

madgod

On another note..... seing Kurapika looking at the scarlet eyes.... that dealt some permanent damage to my brain

Lau

I don’t think Gon thinks he was abandoned. He just thinks his dad left. Those don’t have to be the same thing for someone like him.

Nathan Elkin

I haven't even hit play yet and I'm not OK

Also, regarding Ging as a character, I dont know who was interested in my opinion some episodes ago, but I haven't changed my mind about him. I really liked this episode and how he shared all these stories with Gon, and what he said at the very end is the core of the show; but I still think he was incredibly selfish, and while not an evil person, someone I really can't bring myself to like, just by what I know of him; and I probably never will.

If you want to do any more reaction content for this show, and aren’t afraid to try something a little different, there’s a YouTube channel that goes above and beyond explaining every aspect of the series, including both anime, the manga, and many quotes from the author. Just search NewWorldReview and try any video or playlist that catch your eye. I think you would be really interested to learn about the larger world as a whole, and how small the known world actually is. As far as Gon is concerned, I think you should ask yourself whether you think Ging would have been broken up by the events of the Chimera arc. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and while we have seen Gon be obsessive, we don’t have many examples of him ruminating on past events or future problems. And if he does think critically about something, it usually results in a simple answer. Gon might have gone to hell and back, but he processes it by moving forward and doing what he can. It’s not that the events that happened don’t make sense to him, it’s that it doesn’t make sense to him to think about it that much. He learned and moved on, a little more mature from raw experience, but just as eager as ever to experience new things. I loved this reaction. My goated recommendations (that I can think of right now): -JJK 23 episodes (could replace The Bear when that’s over) -Death Parade 12 episodes (right up your alley) -Sonny Boy (confusing, beautiful, and resonant show that I absolutely love!) 12 episodes -The Legend of Lou Xiaohei (28 episodes first season all on YouTube for free, then the movie, and then like 15 episodes for the second season. Brutally cute) -Nichijou like 20 some episodes (we need a comedy for y’all and this is a classic) -One Punch Man 24 episodes (…it’s good)

Nathan Elkin

Thank you for this incredible journey, your reactions & insights were the highlight of my day whenever you dropped!

Jibble

I absolutely adored this episode and the message behind it. I can't believe this journey is over, and I wish I had started it with you guys ): thats what pains me the most, but well.

Lau

Thank you girls. This was such a special reaction journey. <3

Harfie

I'd love a HxH focused Q&A. My problem with the last one was that you didn't talk about anime enough.

Shivering King Banana

Girl's just watch the movies. I know everyone says they're not as good and they're right but it's still a fun adventure with our boys. And the biggest problem with the movies are that they get details wrong but you girls have always been emotions first and details second.

Shivering King Banana

You just goooooo awaaaaaayyyyy!

Shivering King Banana

I have been in this watch along since episode 1, I love how you guys understand this show more on an emotional level with out really focusing on the mechanics of this show too much which I am totally fine with. Hxh is my favorite show of all time. And this hxh reaction series is my joint favorite along SOS. You guys where more emotionally attached to the characters than any other reactor while the other one was more into mechanics and of course emotional side cuz duh this is hxh :p It's been a great journey, thank you ❤️

OKAY so first of all fuck, it's over, and I'm very sad. What an absolutely spectacular journey that I'm so very grateful you shared with us. The fact you cared about these characters as much as you did has made it a joy to watch, and as always revived the feelings (and tears) I had watching it for the first time. On the Gon of it all you're completely right, there's still so much room to explore why he doesn't seem mentally traumatised by the CA arc. Others have talked about it better than I can, so I'm just going to say here that the reason I'm fine with it is because I think in this adaptation specifically, Killua is the main character. His arc from beginning to end is literally night to day, with every action Gon took throughout the story in some way spurring on Killua's growth. Gon's purity allowed for Killua's withered empathy to fully flourish, and from that we see Alluka complete his transformation from numb killer to loving big brother. With Hisoka, genuinely think it's just his theme tune, voice actor and the fact his aura has both the properties of rubber and gum. Having an actual pedophille villain is also very novel as we never really see that being played so straight in this kind of media. Think it simply comes down to how entertaining someone so chaotic as he is being placed in these life or death situations, as I completely agree his character has no real depth. On a personal note when you started this show I wasn't doing great mentally and these reactions genuinely were two seriously bright spots in my week. Since then I'm doing so much better, but still beyond sad that I wont have these to look forward to, but that's what rewatches are for. Can't wait for the drunk HxH Q&A and to go on the next journey with you both <3

There's so much to be said about where we are left with Gon because in a lot of ways it is open ended, for better and for worse. How I see it, Gon consistently recognizes Ging as this goal/destination at the end of his journey and doesn't seem interested at all in addressing Ging as the worthless father figure that he kind of is. He's stated in past episodes that he's uncomfortable with referring to him as dad and alluded to the idea that all he needed was Mito-san. The show itself always presents Gon as this character who's greatest flaws are deeply routed in Ging's abandonment. At the end of this arc you really feel this juxtaposition between how we are told Gon feels and how Togashi chooses to portray Gon. like I'm wondering if Gon is really content with his abandonment or he's just internalized it so much that he wouldn't know how to confront his Ging as a father if he wanted to. I guess both?? I don't really think there is a correct way to interpret it and I don't think the show is telling you what to make of it. Watching these videos week by week has been really fun and it's helped me reevaluate my feelings on these characters and this show. Thank you for the reactions and discussions!

ridleymon

That was amazing, like an emotional assault. Congrats on finishing the series I’m glad you liked it.

My thoughts on Ging I saved for the final episode: I think people make it out like Ging was like the father of Gyro. That’s going too far. Pariston saw how really felt about the situation when Gon was injured. Ging actually entrusted Gon to his friends. Why? Because that was ultimately one of the main objectives he wanted to see Gon achieve. To build a support system of loyal friends around him. He seemingly passed with flying colours seeing the amount of people that were there supporting him. We see that Ging was obviously an amazing triple star hunter, but throughout Gon’s journey one of the main things we learn about Ging is how he touched people deeply along his journey and the loyal friends he met along the way. Like Kite, Razor, Dwun, List, etc. I think Ging wanted Gon to be powerful physically of course but I think one of the other major goals was for Gon to go out and build those real life relationships like Ging had done. Ging had lived on the same island like Gon did. Like Gon, he probably had very few friends his age growing up. Ging on some level knew that Gon had to go out in the world to build those loyal friendships and he also knew that Gon would love to meet him. Gon meeting Ging was the backdrop of this crazy journey of detours and difficulties but a journey that would ultimately hopefully enrich Gon in a way that it had for Ging too. Ging stated that his favourite part of the whole ordeal was meeting Leorio. Why? It was based on his potential but also seemingly how much he cared about Gon. When he found out Leorio was his friend he said “I appreciate that and I hope you continue to be his friend”. Some people saw it as sarcastic but it’s later shown to be sincere. In the final episode, what was Ging’s final message? That despite the goal Gon had (finding Ging) the people that he met along the journey are ultimately what was most important. This shows that Ging is kinda holding himself to account (much like he did on the tape). He wasn’t a present father. The friendships Gon found on his journey (especially his friendships with Killua, Leorio and Kurapika) are what ultimately were more important than finding him. Anyways, how Ging sees Gon is a bit more nuanced than “he didn’t care”. But it’s also fair to say that Ging’s lack of parenting really did damage Gon’s psyche so he is blameworthy in that aspect. No, Gon didn’t deserve to have a series of trials to meet Ging. Yes every child deserves to have a present parent without having to prove themselves to them. I think Ging is quite aware he wasn’t a great father. I mean, the end of the anime in 148 shows enough of Ging for me to see that he's a great hunter. Being into archeology, restoring ancient ruins, etc. but the message he had for Gon was actually a humble and beautiful lesson that was the opposite of egotistical. It showed that while Ging encouraged Gon this journey, his actual hope for Gon didn't centre around Ging himself. It centered around Gon leaving the island like Ging did at his age and actually...enriching himself. Getting new experiences, getting more powerful, and most importantly gaining valuable friendships and learning how to be a good friend. Ging knew better than anyone what the environment of Whale Island was like. It's a safe comfortable place to live...but the world is large and there's so many great people to meet and places to explore and that's ultimately what Ging wanted for Gon. The journey towards Ging was backdrop for what was really the most important as Ging says. I also thought it was cool that Ging basically echoed Lola’s quote from last discussion. What was more important than finding Ging were the experiences and friends Gon made. Which Ging would obviously agree with Lola :)

ugly crying too, i cant even see the screen omfg im heartbroken this is the end

It’s been an absolute blast watching this show again with you guys. Honestly reminds me how much of a great show it is, and that ending quote from Ging is something I’ve tried to live by ever since I first heard it. Hope you guys do the same 😊

Baz Mehdi

Damn you guys dropped while I’m still at work.. now I gotta wait until I get home lol

Jack SV

The past year has been insane so unfortunately I had to drop HxH around the episode 40 mark, but I do look forward to watching both it and the reactions at some point. Glad to see so many people like it.

sakurabraus

Finn

was so happy when I saw you'd started the show, and looked forward to it every week :) thanks for taking us along on your hxh journey <3

TuiLa4

This is a hard good bye to this long journey. It will leave a void hard to fill. I hope you rewatched again someday and I hope Togashi have a good health and can continue this great masterpiece so we can watch a continuation for the anime someday.

refo44

This is the first time I've dreaded watching a reaction of yours, cause I know once this is done it's finally over. See you guys on the other side when my face is covered with tears...

Kya Colosseum

PLEASE do the drunk Q&A! It's a need!

bondbond53

My god...first of all, I almost cried reading about drunk q&a, it's comforting to know that we will have another video about hxh second, I'm not ready to watch the reaction...thank you for watching my favorite show, you delivered one of the best reactions and discussions about it. HxH has been in my life for over 15 years now, the 1999 version and the 2011 version are special to me, each in its own way. One thing I guarantee, no matter how many times I watch it, I always pick up different things that I hadn't noticed before, that's what makes hxh a timeless work.... I'll be here waiting for the return of the anime with you <3

Wallas

I was so hyped when you guys started, I can’t believe that was a year and a half ago. This is one of my favorite anime’s. Thanks for watching!

Please do reactions of reading the manga. You can start reading at chapter 340 to pick up where the anime left off.

Seni Adeyemi

I love how some of the common criticisms of the show (weird pacing and dead end plot lines) are addressed by togashi in the end. Enjoy the detours.

Paul

Congrats and well done on finishing! HxH is one of those shows that sticks with you so much after you’re done with it.

Nerd Chronic

Really enjoyed your reactions for HxH

anonymous42

I'm not ready man, this will always be one of my favourite shows. 148 episodes went by too quick but i'll be there when the anime comes back with new episodes. Up there with the very best anime. Hope you guys do read the manga and upload reaction or some sort of review since it does continue with kurapika.

Mingo

Nooo I didn’t want you to actually finish it

ridleymon

I suggest you to react something like 90's version ops or comparison clip. I know that are not kind of clip you reacts in this channel. But it would be fun if you do :)

Jay

OH MY GOD! End of an era 😭😭😭😭 Still remember the times when Lola was memorizing the narrator's opening line : Zaykho, Hykhoo, Makyo, Hikyo ... Time flies 😭😭😭😭
