I do have criticisms for this season, in regards to characters and their stories but I will save my critiques until the girls have caught up to the rest of the episodes.

Eric Kripke has announced that they will finish up the show in Season 5 so I wouldn’t be surprised if they delay Butcher’s death until that season. But either way i agree with you that he will definitely die at some point.

My opinion is: if this next season wasn't the last, I would abandon it too, but I'm glad they knew where to stop. I'm loving Homelander's plot this season

Now, that they know, that Season 5 will be the last, there is hope for that. Or all the characters will make the decision in the last episode of season 5 and stay in loop until then.

2024-06-22 18:50:04 +0000 UTC@Robert one of my biggest criticisms of season 3 is how the showrunners wouldn't commit to any meaningful choices for these characters. I thought that having a clear ending in sight (ending the show with season 5) would give the characters a bit more direction. Now, I only watched the first two episodes, but if you say that they still seem to unsure about what to do with them has me a bit worried

2024-06-22 18:05:35 +0000 UTCMy two cents about the first episode.. I feel the focus should be on Homelander and the main plot .. I feel the focus at this stage of the story should be on the main plot and the impending doom that Homelander is. Don’t get me wrong, the others they are great characters but they should stay as secondary characters or push forward the main plot. Regarding the parody of real life politics in this show, it was never subtle and it was always in your face.. I’ve seen some people complaining about that but I just don’t get it..if they really feel so strong about it now then what does it really say about them lol the show was never subtle from the jump. I might be on the minority but I actually like Sage.. her character seems like a good addition to this show and the fact that she smiled a little when Homelander told her she can put her theories to practice means she might be more twisted that she seems to be.

It gives this season a new direction, because instead of aligning your behavior with the public's opinion as before, you manipulate the public according to your interests to get your opinion accepted.
