How To ALWAYS Smell Good 😍
Added 2023-01-09 18:43:33 +0000 UTCHave you ever been in a situation where you realised you were giving off an unpleasant odour? Whether it's bad breath, body odour, or something else, it's never a good feeling.
But the good news is that there are simple and basic steps you can take to make sure you always smell fresh and clean.
In this article, I will give you some tips for smelling good all day long.
So read on to learn how to stay smelling your best.
I will be doing a post about good fragrances to use for specific events, weather conditions and locations but it would be better to cover this subject FIRST.
Because if you STINK, then no fragrance can save you, so it's best to sort out the issue from the foundational levels FIRST.
You can be an insanely attractive person, but if you smell bad, be it your body odour or your breath, then you automatically go from a 10/10 to a 1/10.
And the worst part is, we live in a society where noone wants to offend anyone.
People are too polite or don't have the confidence to tell you if you smell bad and unfortunately this can lead to some people going years and years on end with the foul smells on them without even realising how bad they STINK!
Good hygiene can take you very far. Your hygiene speaks for you before you even open your mouth.
Lets begin...
1. Your Environment
The environment you're in can definitely influence the way you smell regardless of how many showers you take or how much perfume you use.
If your house has a distinct smell (smoking, cooking certain kinds of foods) those smells will eventually stick to your clothes and follow you around everywhere.
For example, if you live in a humid climate, you may find that you sweat more and produce more body odour.
This is because the high humidity levels can make it harder for your sweat to evaporate, which can make you feel stickier and smell stronger.
Similarly, if you live in a polluted area, the air quality may affect the way you smell. Pollution can cause changes in body odour, as well as make it harder for fragrances to stay on your skin.
Additionally, certain activities or occupations may also influence the way you smell. For example, if you work in a kitchen or around food, you may have a stronger food-related scent on your clothes and skin.
So make sure your house, bedroom is well ventilated.
Make sure your clothes are in the wardrobe and door is closed because the food smells can stick to your clothes.
You also want to avoid unwashed bed sheets, dirty pillow cases, dirty towels
It is generally recommended to wash your bed sheets and towels once a week.
Wash your bath towels every 3-4 washes or if you are bored, you can do what I do...
I have 7 towels and I use a fresh one for every day of the week.
This frequency can help to keep your bed and towels fresh and clean, and can also help to reduce the buildup of dirt, sweat, and other substances that can accumulate on your sheets and towels over time.
However, the actual frequency with which you should wash your towels bed sheets may depend on a variety of factors, such as your personal preferences, your lifestyle, and your overall health.
For example, if you tend to sweat a lot at night or have allergies, you may want to wash your sheets more frequently.
On the other hand, if you are in good health and your sheets don't get excessively dirty or smelly, you may be able to go longer between washings.
Ultimately, the key is to find a balance that works for you and your household.
To conclude this first point, make sure to keep your living spaces clean and free of smells.
2. YOU
The key areas to wash and keep clean.
- Mouth
- Hair
- Armpits
- Hair
- Penis, Anus, Vagina
- Feet
You should keep your body clean as a whole but these are the main locations to pay EXTRA attention to because they easily clog up unpleasant smells.
As a general rule, wherever your body produces the most oil and sweat is where you should pay the most attention to.
For your mouth, I'd recommend using an electronic toothbrush followed by mouthwash TWICE a day. Use the electronic toothbrush the same way you would use a manual toothbrush for best results.
Listerine mouthwash is great.
MAKE SURE TO BRUSH YOUR TONGUE!
However the main causes of bad breath is gut issues. (Bad lifestyle habits and bad diet)
If you notice your breath gets a bit off, I'd suggest to get a mini mouthwash bottle or carry a pack of gum with you.
Flossing is also recommended by every dental hygienist I have ever spoken to.
Flossing is when you use a special string called 'floss' to clean in between your teeth.
It helps to remove food and plaque (a sticky film of bacteria) that can get stuck in the tiny spaces between your teeth.
Plaque can cause tooth decay and gum disease if it is not removed, so flossing is an important part of keeping your mouth clean and healthy.
It is recommended to floss once a day, either before or after brushing your teeth. Flossing can help to keep your teeth strong, your gums healthy, and your breath fresh.
For your hair, this is one of the most overlooked places that starts to smell bad pretty quickly.
How often you should wash your hair depends on several factors, including your hair type, scalp condition, and personal preferences.
For most people, it is sufficient to wash their hair every 2-3 days.
However, people with oily hair may need to wash their hair more frequently, while those with dry hair may only need to wash their hair once or twice a week.
If you have dandruff or an oily scalp, you may need to wash your hair more frequently to keep your scalp healthy.
When washing your body, it is extremely important to make sure you wash every single area on you.
KEY areas to WASH:
- Your face
- Your neck
- Behind your ears
- Inside your ears
- Your Armpits
- Your penis
- Your vagina
- Your anus (AS A MAN YOU SHOULD 1,000% WASH THIS PLACE TOO!)
- The space between your anus and your penis/vagina
- Your legs
- Your feet
- Between your toes
These two body washes are great to use:

I'd also recommend using a glove scrub, to help exfoliate the dead skin cells on and around your body.
A glove scrub, also known as an exfoliating glove, is used to exfoliate the skin. It is usually made of a rough or textured material and is worn on the hand like a glove.
Exfoliating the skin with a glove scrub can have several benefits:
- Removing dead skin cells: Exfoliating with a glove scrub helps to remove dead skin cells from the surface of the skin, leaving it looking smoother and more radiant.
- Unclogging pores: Exfoliating with a glove scrub can help to unclog pores and remove excess oil, which can help to reduce the risk of acne and other skin problems.
It is important to use a glove scrub gently and to avoid over-exfoliating, as this can damage the skin and cause irritation. It is also a good idea to follow up with a moisturiser to help hydrate and protect the skin after exfoliating.
Great moisturiser.

3. Cologne
There will be a future post coming on good affordable colognes to be aware of how and where to wear them.
However it's important to understand that colognes can smell differently on different people due to several factors, including an individual's body chemistry, diet, and medications.
Body chemistry: Every person has a unique body chemistry that can affect the way a fragrance smells on their skin.
For example, some people may have naturally oily skin, which can cause a fragrance to smell more intense and last longer.
On the other hand, people with dry skin may find that a fragrance does not last as long and smells differently on their skin.
Diet: What you eat and drink can also affect the way a fragrance smells on your skin.
For example, certain foods and beverages such as garlic, onions, and alcohol can alter the way a fragrance smells.
Medications: Some medications can also affect the way a fragrance smells on your skin.
For example, certain antibiotics and blood pressure medications can alter the body's natural scent, which can affect the way a fragrance smells.
In general, colognes will smell differently on different people due to these individual variations.
However, the differences may not always be noticeable and may depend on the specific fragrance.
It's also important to understand that not every cologne is suitable for every occasion and/or environment.
The wrong cologne worn to the wrong place can be just as bad as smelling really bad so make sure the colognes you use are appropriate for the occasion.
Conclusion
Smelling good and keeping the body clean are important for both personal hygiene and social reasons.
By following a good oral hygiene routine, wearing clean clothes, and taking care of your body, you can ensure that you always smell fresh and clean.
Additionally, choosing the right fragrance and using it in moderation can help to enhance your natural scent and leave a pleasant impression on those around you.
By incorporating these simple steps into your daily routine, you can stay smelling your best and feel confident in any situation.
