(ARTICLE) Turning Followers Into Clients: A Step - By - Step Guide On Going From 0 - 6 Figures+
Added 2021-06-29 11:14:14 +0000 UTCThese concepts will help you when it comes to build your business.
There are 5 stages when it comes to running your own business.
1. Idea
This first thing you’ll need is an idea, however this is also the stage where many people fail to take any action.
2. Solopreneur (Building Identity)
The Moment you start taking action and start making a bit of money, this will put you in this category.
This is when you're making anything less than £50,000 annually.
And in this stage, this where you focus on building your brand IDENTITY.
You have to be CLEAR on what it is you’re offering to the marketplace.
So a few questions you need to ask yourself is this:
A) What are you?
B) What do you have to offer?
C) Why should people buy from you?
So this will include:
- Ideal Client Clarity (who is the ideal client or niche you’re trying to attract?) Don’t be afraid experiment with different types of clients and niches.
This is where you also find out
- which type of clients are a nightmare to work with
- Which type of clients are the best to work with
- Your pricing
- Etc…
You can still take on clients without full confidence and clarity on what your offer actually is.
This is the level where your basically testing to see what works and what doesn’t work.
- Offer positioning. (Sales calls, testing different launch strategies, etc….)
- Offer validation (testing to see if your service actually worked which is backed by testimonials from real people)
This will make people have TRUST in purchasing and doing business with you.
3. Competitor and market analysis
Things you may need to change about yourself:
- Analysis paralysis (too much planning and not enough DOING!)
- Perfectionism
- Adding discipline (avoid procastination)
- Pushing and overcome obstacles and failures.
At this solopreneur stage, you can still make money which is why the range is 0 -50K.
However the only thing is, you will inconsistent months because your audience isn’t clear on what you offer and what you are presenting isn’t scalable enough to be consistent.
You have to get CLEAR on the one thing you offer to the marketplace
Why being known for one thing matters?
- Decreases confusion from your audience (don’t try to make everyone your ideal client)
- Previous content has more longevity
- Easier referrals because referees are able to clearly communicate what it is that you do
Focus more on being a specialist at one thing rather than being a generalist at 6 other things.
3. Successful solopreneur (Building Visibility)
Successful is subjective but what I mean by this is when your business is making a considerable amount of money or a full time income.
This is ideally between £50K - 100K
At this stage, you want to focus on building visibility even more. (Reinvesting profits into marketing)
A Question to ask yourself:
“How do I gain more clients, customers, views”
This means you have to :
- Expand to to other social media platforms
- Increasing posting frequency
- Outsourcing tasks, so you can get more done
After you’ve gotten your first 50K and figured out your ideal audience, you then have to focus on growing that audience
Internal shifts to make:
- Get rid of Imposter syndrome (feeling like your success is luck or feeling as if you don’t deserve your success) this is normal at this stage.
- Burnout management. (Having tooo much work to do or having toooo many clients to work with) you can either outsource or raise prices
- Shiny object syndrome (you don’t have to be on every single social media platform) getting great at 1 platform supplemented by another is great.
At this stage, You don’t have to be on YouTube, Tik Tok, instagram, twitter, Facebook, Snapchat all at one time.
- Fear of spending money to make money. (Don't be afraid to reinvest all the profits back into growing and developing your business, even if thats the most you’ve ever made)
Two things to remember
- You CAN 100% Build a 6 figure a year business with a small following / audience.
- But It will end if you don’t keep growing that audience.
Thats why at this stage, visibility is important so more people can see what youre offering to make consistent 10K months
Keep thinking of ways to grow your audience
Keep thinking of ways to get more traffic. (it doesn’t mean being on 7 different platforms at once)
Focus on 2 platforms, do it really well and be VERY consistent with those two platforms.
If you stay stuck with with serving your existing audience with no focus on gaining a newer audience, it’ll only be a matter of time until you exhaust your existing audience.
4. 6 Figure Entrepreneur (Building systems)
At this level, your business has passed making 100K per year.
AT THIS LEVEL, you should now focus building a system.
A question to ask yourself:
“How do I stop trading time for money and make money consistently?”
What this includes:
- Creating a process which WORKS that can be repeated for your ideal clients without needing you to have custom attention to them
- Implementing standard operating procedures. (Terms & conditions, official documents) everything should be organised into specific documents instead of free-styling it. This way you won’t have to always repeat yourself when outsourcing tasks for your staff to do.
- Outsourcing tasks. When you’re at the 6 figure level, you want to spend more time on other much more important things. Client support is a very time consuming duty. So after 6 figures you want to outsource that task onto other people
- Hiring more tech, admin and Operations roles (project management). You want others who are great at the technical activities to handle that so you can have more time to focus on being the visionary of your business.
Internal shifts to let go of:
- Letting go of “customisation”
- Being less involved in customer support
- Fear Of letting go of total control (when you’ve hired people to take care of certain tasks)
At this stage, it’s important to have trust in the people you have hired to work for you to serve your clients, customer and audience.
At some level in your business, you won’t be able to dedicate 100% of your time and attention to every single one of your customers.
Thats like all amazon customers to expect Jeff Bezos himself to deliver EVERYONES item they ordered from amazon.
It will be hard to let this go, but when you hit the multiple 6 figures, if you keep doing that then your impact will be limited.
What You Need To Drop At The Multiple 6 Figures Mark?
Drop the focus on getting more views, clients, customers and traffic. This can only take you so far.
If you keep focusing on traffic without building systems, you will miss a few opportunities to scale to multiple 6 figures and beyond.
It doesn’t matter how much traffic you’re getting if you can’t convert it.
Thats how you see people with millions of followers but can barely sell anything to their followers.

However this DOES NOT MEAN TO FORGET ABOUT TRAFFIC, it simply means to be mindful and spend more time in creating scalable systems.
Once you find traffic sources that work for you, the goal is to make sure you can sustain and send that traffic to a sales system which works consistently.
You also need to drop creating custom plans for your clients and customers. Create a system for success that can be repeatable for your clients.
Its all about automating things so you don’t have to trade your time for money.
5. Seven Figure level (Having a team)
At this level is when your’e making over £1M or $ per year.
At this level (if required) you should really focus on building a strong team of people who can add real value to your business.
A question to ask yourself: “How does my team get me ahead?”
This means:
- You’ll have to have full time staff instead of part time contractors
- Being a leader to empower your team to be able to make decisions on your behalf
- Investing into your team to get further training to be able to excel in their roles
Everything you do at the 7 figure level is to make sure that your team succeeds
Internal shifts to make:
- Get rid of the fear of letting go of control
- Start taking responsibility for other team members mistakes
- Start spending money on other people outside of yourself (investing into further training for your team members)
- Get rid of the fear of uncomfortable conversations (Firing people, poor performance conversations etc…)
- Extreme self care, so you can show up at your best full of energy for your team (eating well, sleeping better and exercising)
REMEMBER:
Things from previous levels need to be perfected before you move onto the next level.
It makes ZERO sense to be focused on build a team if you haven’t even made 50K……
It makes ZERO sense to be trying create automated systems when you haven’t even got clients who have given your service / product great testimonials.
Don’t try to rush.
Take it step by step, level by level
As you go past 7 figures there’s mores shifts you need to make, but this is a very simple overview to make it easy to understand.
You have to understand that at every income level, it will require a different version of you.
Till next time.
