Yeah and I really do love Molly Gordon in the role, and she has great chemistry and all. But in the end it's hard not to feel like she was added to the show just to fulfill certain plot requirements, rather than feeling like a full character.

2023-11-05 18:42:05 +0000 UTCAs someone who didn’t like Season 3 of The Boys I was honestly surprised by Gen V I think it is pretty messy when it comes to focus and characterization at points (it’s also a little TOO nail on the head with the way it tackles certain issues) I think if you’re watching with friends or a book club there are some genuinely fun and clever moments of writing and lots of important issues specific to Gen Z are focused on in a way I think does justice to a lot of classic X-Men comics focusing on similar topics

2023-11-03 18:58:51 +0000 UTCThis show is like a little miracle and it captures the miracles and love in everyday life, all the moments the characters emotionally evolve as people are so damn rewarding (I prefer this to Ted Lasso because it is more grounded and it focuses on people of lower economic status) Love that LM could react to it

I hope we get at least 2 more seasons, one about getting a Michelin star and one about what to do after you've succeeded (and how you move on). "I don't need to provide amusement or enjoyment. I don't need to receive any amusement or enjoyment." Thus ends Carmy, trapped in a frozen prison of his own making lmao. It sucks that Carmy only sees the little mistakes he made, when the team he assembled successed with two people down. It's a huge W for Carmy but he can't see it because there's some ripped tape and bad art on the walls. Now that we've met Donna its hard for me not to see the ways Carmy is a lot like her. Maybe the poison does drip through. In Fishes, Donna hates being asked if she's okay. Here Donna begs Pete to tell her it's okay. There's probably something in her needing A Man to give her permission too. The whole scene is incredible, and you can see the weight of it crush nice normal non-traumatised Pete. This might be the first time he ever lies (by omission) to Natalie too. I think he did the right thing in the moment tbh. I'm glad that despite it going well, they didn't sugarcoat the bad stuff. Syd is still stress-vomiting despite getting the approval she wanted from her dad. I think the episode ending on her smiling, stressed face is a good sign for the future of the show. Very excited to see where they take things, I just want my favs to be happy.

2023-11-03 09:16:35 +0000 UTCi see lola’s point about claire. i wish her character got fleshed out the same way tina or marcus did. especially since shes close to the family and aware of their problems i feel like theres alot to work with there narratively. all in all still one of the best shows of the year and im glad they made that executive decision to start watching it🙏

It wasn’t about any shipping war, people were just not happy with how cliché she was as a character. The perfect sweet girl who always says the right thing and somehow always has time and is never stressed (despite studying medicine, something notorious for taking up a lot of time and causing stress lol). I remember there memes about her being a derivative of the “dead wife” trope lol.

2023-11-03 01:15:39 +0000 UTCthis episode, as well as ep6 is hard to watch because it hits home and it's awful to see. my dad is mentally unwell as well and while definitely really different to donna it still hurts to see. he's been home for a week anf he's already made me cry out of frustration and anger 4 times. a few hours ago last time. it's hard because it's depicted really well, in this case i'm more like nat and my sister is more like carmy. i try even though i know it's not healthy for me and my sister tries to stay away for hew own mental peace but we can't help but feel awful either way. kudos to the writers because it's written perfectly but fuck them because they had no right to make me cry again. ps: sorry but i'm biased. i love claire and and I love molly and ayo working together so i hope they find a way to keep her for s3 just so i can watch her in more things.
