In my opinion the second movie is a must watch. It’s important for the story and Violets journey/development. I loved it a lot and would love to see your reaction!

I actually started watching the show when I knew you girls were going to react to it... I remmember hearing a lot of good things about the show back in 2018, but for some reason I kind of forgot to check it out. I'm really glad in watching now, I cry almost every episode but still is like Lola said, it's not from sadness, it's just... moving. I'm almost finishing it but just watched the ova now. I don't see much relation to ep 5 though, I think it's just placed between ep 4 and 5 due to Violet's development at this pont of the story, it fits better here. By the way, ep 5 was the only one until now I had kind of an issue about, even though I understand the context, it's hard to ignore (but a good episode in general, I guess). Anyway, I'm really happy to be back here on Patreon to watch it with you all... I really missed it. I was around 2019- 20 but had to leave due some i$$ues xD. Since I work on my own now, I'm not sure if I will stay for long, but at least until the end of the year \o/

Even though it’s additive and takes place after the show, there’s still development for Violet’s character that I personally find meaningful. The second movie….we can cross that bridge when we come to it

2023-10-21 23:59:00 +0000 UTCIn the winter season 2018 the anime was released, so Jan - April. And then in July 2018, the OVA was added, simply to make the narrative a little more fluid. And later, two movies were made, with the second movie trying to go back to the book and balance out the disparity in the anime to end up with the same ending as in the book, which is why the second movie is criticized by some fans. The anime ultimately concludes the story on its own, while the first movie complements it. You should watch the first movie if you want more from Violet. And for the second movie, it really depends quite a bit on whether or not you can still watch and evaluate the anime separately from the movie if you're not satisfied with the ending. Some say it's perfect, while others say it doesn't fit the narrative in the anime. 🙆
