@Payam Damn, I thought I met another local 🙁 I guess that's another incentive to watch Succession, afraid as I am of how they'll pronounce her name 😂😂

TeaDrinker3000

Hate to break it to you but Siobhan Roy is the name of a Succession character lol

Payam Sharifi

They'll be getting into it right away. Also hello Siobhan, I'm Irish too :)

TeaDrinker3000

Cant wait for S2! Do they start immediately? Or is there a few weeks break?

siobhanroy

Incredible finale. I cry every time. Looking forward to the discussion when you get to it. Season 2 is, somehow, even better!

Kara

I agree with Henry. The second half of the footage is night and day different with you actually being focused, and the white balance is a bit better.

TeaDrinker3000

season 2 is even better (in my opinion) but that last 5 min sequence is still my favorite of the show. carmy realizing his new found family and feeling his brother’s acknowledgment and embrace one last time is so beautiful. that last shot of mikey smiling before the credits roll as the song’s crescendo hits is just cinema to me

Sebastian

I was definitely cutting some onions during this episode.

Farbod

I swear, this and Yellowjackets just recontextualizes my favorite songs and what they mean to me.

orlanmop _

god I fucking love this show (sobbing again)

Cornberry

Enjoy your vacation so excited for season 2!!!

Paul Walker

This episode was too good. Somehow S2 is even better.

Tyler Jackson

Yeah, usually The Wire comes after the Bear if I'm not mistaken

HenryM

I think so too

HenryM

You think the quality is not good on the second half? I actually think the white balance got better and you're more in focus (or the resolution increased?). Anyone else sees this? I loved this finale. I noticed how this episode is quieter and slower paced than usual, with the characters having more time to breathe and talk to each other with long shots lingering on reflective pauses, I specifically loved the Ritchie/Carmy moments with the line "You're all I got cousin" being my favorite, I got a bit emotional there. What finally made me shed tears was that final shot of Mikey and Carmy, I loved the fact that the last thing we see is Mikey smiling, a very fitting ending. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on this

HenryM

The Wire is tomorrow night, yes? Or am I mistaken?

TeaDrinker3000

Jon Bernthal's perfect big brother smile gets me every time. The idea that he really did have Carmy's best interest at heart and was not what Carmy believed was the truth. Mikey really did want to work with Carmy but couldn't because he was facing his own demons but still pulled through with the gesture that this isn't a mess that he was inheriting. He wanted Carmy to do something with the restaurant even if he wasn't around. Mikey, in a way, understood that they would have to move on from the Beef to do better things but everyone else involved couldn't because of their grief or stubbornness to stay in the old ways because they couldn't move past his death. All this to demonstrate that he did actually have a plan. That he wasn't leaving Carmy hanging like Carmy believed. All of this conveyed in a smile.

BigWonton

I had been enjoying the show immensely by the time I got to this episode, but the moment between Carmy and Marcus was when it captured my heart entirely. The "mutual nod" apology is the TV go-to move when they want two male characters to move past their differences without ever having that moment of vulnerability. So I was pleasantly surprised when Carmy turned around and explicitly apologized. He wants so badly not to treat his staff the way he was treated coming up.

Mike Conlin

Is there an ETA on the review? A few days? A week?

Rynsen

No worries, looking forward to the edited, enjoy they vacay

Alex

Good luck editing the opening monologue. I don't know how I'd even approach it. Every moment, even the silence, is so compelling. I've been really looking forward to this episode (and that scene in particular) because y'all are so wonderfully empathetic and emotive. It hit you just as hard as I thought it might. Thank you for sharing.

bushpusherr

In the second half, the quality is way better than in the first. Am I seeing things?

Orr Malus
