Y’all reaction to Marlo is hilarious. Can’t wait until y’all see Chris and Snoop 😂

Waun101

He's no ODB...

TeaDrinker3000

His mentor was none other than Meyer lanksy

fionan franklin

Hey, thats racist! Space1999 help!

Lil Don075

Bro, hes a rapper. Calm tf down and stop idolizing celebrities.

Lil Don075

For me, I first saw him as Carcetti, then read the GOT books, then saw him cast as Littlefinger and knew he would be perfect for the role.

Doug

@Lil Don075 I am starting to think that you are some walking stereotype black guy. Always angry huh 🤣

Charlotte Drolet

That's the thing. He's not "some rapper". Meth is a legend. An icon.

Farbod

Might be time to react to Wu-Tang An American Saga lol

Farbod

Getting all mad because they dont know some rapper is crazy "show some respect" lmao

Lil Don075

all said to them is hes from the wu tang clan and all im saying to you is go take your spazz pills. No need to comment back, its irrelevant

james johnston

Cheese is Method Man! I can't believe you guys are still having that discussion its cracking me up hahaha

ruoF owT

Chill tf out. they dont listen to rap why would they know who he is.

Lil Don075

The two most hated in ALL of television? Really?

Lil Don075

Lol they don't know him and it makes sense , it's funny because he's the MOST famous person here but it makes sense

Karabo

I knew that The Wire will remind us that they are Young Serbian Girls, however how it manifested here is the funniest thing that I didn't expect but it makes so much sense

Karabo

Lol I trust them to realize it before the show reveals it but it will be funny to see

Karabo

I think they mentioned it in last episode's discussion iirc

HenryM

Did no one tell them that Cutty is Fred Johnson from The Expanse? I think that’s really where they remember him from as it was more recent.

Patrick

Since there was understandably some confusion regarding the murders in this episode (it can be hard for newcomers to figure out who everyone is in a show this dense): Cheese is the one who killed his dog after the dog-fighting, but he got screwed over by the opposing guy and his friend, who was putting some sort of substance on their dog, that ended up discouraging Cheese's dog from attacking him (cheating, basically), allowing the other guy's dog to kill Cheese's dog. So Cheese's boy, the guy that told Cheese ''you got played'', was the guy who went up to the owner of the opposing dog later in the episode and shot him in the head from behind. This is the first of several murders that occur throughout the rest of the episode, one of which is Peanut, a Barksdale guy. Four of the new 'street' characters introduced are some of my favourites in the whole series and we've seen a bit of all four. I love Cutty and Bunny as characters. I'm also very fond of Slim Charles, one of the new Barksdale guys. Last but not least is Marlo and his gang, who are going to be interesting in the future... Oh there's also Carcetti, he's very intriguing, too.

Aj

To be fair, I don't think two random cops are going to be aware of their ages at the time, but they're still knuckleheads.

Aj

That scene where Poot and Bodie run into Herc and Carver at the movies really does serve as a good analogy for the futility of the war on drugs, and of course emphasises how everyone involved are just human beings at the end of the day. Poot saying "See you tomorrow...", the dramatic weight behind that line.. If you were a short distance away from those two groups, you'd assume everyone involved were acquaintances, friends even. Or at least you'd just think they were just ordinary people catching a movie. Reminds me of the classic story of the two opposing group of soldiers crossing enemy lines to play football on christmas day in world war 1. The removal of surrounding context normalising and humanising the dynamic. I dunno, that scene has always just really stood out to me. In comparison to Jimmy, who always sees the criminals as humans (Stringer, Dee, Omar etc.), Herc and Carver are actively taken out of their comfort zone in that moment, so it hits me way harder. For the briefest of moments, they're able to see the woods from the trees in the way that the audience does. Even the funny scenes in The Wire do so much to represent the overarching themes of good/bad, cops/criminals, and just human civilization in general, frankly. Lastly, Pearlman getting into bed with Daniels AND McNulty in this series? Lucky bitch lmao

TeaDrinker3000

Girls go look up Method Man on YouTube 😂🤣

PamRenea

The only time we've seen Herc act like a decent human being is the scene with Bodie's grandmother back in season one. The guy is 99.99% pure asshole. Very funny though, usually unintentionally so on the character's part (intentionally from the writers ofc.)

Isak Haugerud

don’t recognize him??? Thats the M-E-T-H-O-D-M-A-N from the wu tang clan!!! show some respect

james johnston

I think Carver doesn't quite deserve to be put on the same level as Herc. He has more moments where he is given direct guidance from other characters like Daniels and he seems to somewhat take it on board and slowly improve his thinking. Herc on the other hand is a depiction of those who thrive within the broken system and despite being terrible at their jobs and awful people they end up being rewarded for their behaviour. I don't want to spoil anything in the future but Herc has way more moments that make me hate him than Carver does but yes the conversation in this episode is gross on so many levels

Max Carter

you know i was wondering the entire time how old the twins were that year, but i also don’t expect anything better from them

LM Reactions

The fact that the Olsen twins were just 17 at the time of filming that dialogue between Herc and Carver is truly the cherry on top for what makes them my two most hated male characters in television. They are well written, I'm not criticising the writing, but as people they are absolutely fucking vile.

TeaDrinker3000

In regards to Kima, I think she is one piece to the puzzle of having a family while you’re in the game (police or the street). I feel she represents starting a family while in this work, McNulty represents straying away from your family while working the game, and Daniels represents what the game could affect a well established relationship. Remember when Jimmy was a mess after getting rejected by his wife in season 2 and he drove black out drunk to then end up in a waitress’s bed? This isn’t a line of work that can be balanced with a home-life. It’s necessary but has its drawbacks. There was that scene where Herc and carver bump into Bodie and Pot at the movies. You have to find a balance or otherwise the game/work will consume you.

orlanmop _

Hell yeah, just woke up. This will be a nice morning watch ❤️

TeaDrinker3000

High horse? Its a fact. Everyone has problems, but most people don't CHOOSE to become murderers. You people are really funny. You hold certain people accountable but when it comes to a select group that goes out of the window lmao clowns.

Lil Don075

The paper bag monologue is legendary. Also re Marlo, I feel like he is the epitome of "its all in the game." You get the sense that every faculty is focused on the war, over or covert, in Baltimore. It's ALL in the game. He has nothing else on his mind, no concerns outside of his murderous business.

William Clinton

Fun fact Ladies but the man talking to Bunny at the end of the episode was the real life inspiration for Avon Barksdale. He is called The Deacon in the show but his real name is Melvin Williams and he and another drug dealer named Nathan Barksdale were the inspiration for the character of Avon. He was a part of the drug business in the 80's and was locked up for years for it, but once he got out he switched his life around and even came onto the show to play a character.

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

You can't see Aiden Gillen after GOT and not be suspicious of his character.

Charlotte Drolet

You guys break my heart every time you don't know who Cheese (Method Man) is. One of the greatest rappers/entertainers ever. xD

Farbod

Hope you got enough tissue for those nose bleeds..that’s a really high horse you sitting on 😬

Thomas

Y’all’s disappointment in Kima is hilarious to me I can’t wait for y’all to realize who/what she is turning into

Thomas

Did he put the gun in his hand? did he control Bodie and Poot like a puppet? Jedi mind tricked them into luring Wallace into that apartment to kill him? It is a choice, whatever reason or excuse you have is irrelevant. They are not children, they are teenagers. Even the most dimwitted teen knows what a MURDER is. And the shit was premeditated.

Lil Don075

Black people of course! Grow tf up.

Lil Don075

Lil Don075 Did I tell you to post a comment? You do what I say!

Charlotte Drolet

With Wallace it was literally kill or be killed. Stringer basically told Bodie that Wallace has to die because he might be too weak, so what do you think happens to Bodie if he says no? Bodie had no choice, he was a scared child just like Wallace.

Rynsen

Who is you people?

PamRenea

Everyone has a choice. And that is part of the problem, you people take responsibility away from these kinds of people.

Lil Don075

You guys adopting Cutty after 2 episodes is so on brand. 😂🤣 and calling Bodie our guys even after Wallace kinda warmed my heart cuz they really had no choice with Wallace.

PamRenea

Don't worry LM, as you said, The Wire is very realistic, and just like reality, it can't be all bleak and tragic. Even in Baltimore. :)

ODIS

bunny and cutty are two of my favorite characters for sure

GokuEscapePod

Love these reactions! The SPCA is an abbreviation for the people who take care of abused animals.

Alexander

I'm on episode 7 of this season myself, definitely looking forward to seeing L&M's reactions to some upcoming stuff. Their reaction to Omar here was my own reaction lol, I missed him too much last season.

cosmotron
