Watch Jujutsu Kaisen please

Draken

Perfect reaction to the requiem scene lmao I knew you guys would be caught off guard

Justin

chills as that soundtrack kicks in

Ulfway

“Wait where’s our tshirts”😂😂

JATLA

this is so cool

Karabo

I love how many "roles" Chrollo plays in this episode: "Neon's Chaffeur", "Neon's friend", or when he's outraged as Neon's protector, then as the "Troupe Leader", then the way he plays along with that bounty hunter, but finally at the end we get to see him not playing anything only mourning for his friend

Ben G

this was when HH became peak for me

Meximus

In my opinion, they would not. Enjoying the show, myself

Isaac

@jestaaaa they are badass and they didn't say they are heartless, if you remember Maki wasn't bothered by the idea of Chrollo wanting to replace Uvo with Kurapika. Kurapika can't replace him because he wants to kill them all and Chrollo finds out that he was going to kill half of the troupe that month

Yū Nishinoya

The mummy and Phinks are separate characters

sonic

They are a tight knit crew. Even though they have that rule about replacing dead members, they still feel animosity towards the replacement and have trouble accepting them. That’s why Hisoka isn’t on anybody’s good terms except for Machi

Giovanni V

@Henkan "Gon's only negative trait is that he's naive" You're really underselling it there.

Shivering King Banana

The HxH YouTube community is something else, man. I checked out their Wire reaction and one of the first comments there is, "Fuck the wire, we want HxH" lmaoooooo we're a passionate bunch.

Tony

This is totally unrelated. I just want everyone's opinion here. I just saw the last episode of My adventures with Superman. For the people who have seen it so far. Do you think the girls would like it?.

CsrM40

@Henkan Dude you definetly a troll, you can't be soo wrong at something lmao, you are literally saying everything HxH isn't. When did any character mindlessly offer themselves up for sacrifice for anyone ? Since when was Gon's only negative trait being "naive" ? Being "naive" is the least negative thing about him lol Also how do you missunderstand Nen so bad. When did "nuh-uh, my power's greater than yours!" was ever a thing in this show ? The anime literally explains explicitly over and over how that's not how things work lmao Nice troll, if not then you clearly didn't watch the anime or just have very poor media literacy and comprehension skills

Jonas

@Henkan calling Gon a Mary due right before you get to the climax of the chimera ant arc is absolutely hilarious holy shit That’s the perfect reply. You will never top that And you add that the power system, a system praised for being one of the best, is basically childish is also great. Keep it up. You’re doing great

Legion

Hah, seems like I hit a nerve! I gave up around episode 110ish, in the CA arc. The main characters are basically all Mary Sues. Gon's only negative trait is that he's "naïve", but mostly only for comedic effect. I guess that KIllua is slightly more egocentric, but you could swap him and Gon in any conversation, and it wouldn't make any difference. All characters, especially Gon, tend to mindlessly offer themselves up for sacrifice if it means saving their friends. "Friends" here is a very loose term, since it also means any person they literally only have known for about 5 minutes even. And maybe I'm just too stupid to understand the whole magic system in HxH, but I don't understand why someone doesn't just invoke a time travel nen power, for example. The system isn't well thought through, and is most easily compared to a child coming up with "nuh-uh, my power's greater than yours!" playground shenanigans.

Henkan

@henkan I agree that HxH is often overrated, but I've rarely seen such a bad take on HxH. What you are describing is so far off what HxH actually is that I wonder if you actually watched the show.

MaxVSTheGames

@Henkan You can't be serious lol, HxH is great because none of the characters are flat, every character has their own motive, own story, own tragectory in life and none of them are their to serve the main character. No character is evil to be evil and no character is just good to be good, characters in this show are all shades of grey and are literally used as an example of how to make "not flat" characters in shonen. Also when did the "power of friendship" ever occur in this show ? Also where was there ever a character with "unquestionable moral values" ? everyone is very questionable at best. What "overpowered ability" is there in the show ? Literally Nen is so good because it makes the power balance soo well since everything has a drawback and as strong as you can be if you face someone with an ability made to win against yours then you loose. What "main trio" are you talking about ? there literally isn't a main trio in this show lmao You literally didn't watch the show because you are literally saying exactly what the show isn't

Jonas

The criticism are from Vinland fans apparently :/

Joaquín Calderón

I seriously don't understand the HxH fandom. Don't get me wrong, it's an OK show, but it's not "great". All characters are seriously flat, and its only strong point is that the plot sometimes goes in unexpected ways. Otherwise, it constantly introduces new characters with extremely random overpowered abilities, and our main trio succeeds in the end through the power of friendship™ and unquestionable moral values™.

Henkan

I don't think they care. The HxH fans in the YouTube comments are actually unhinged. It's better to just not pay any attention to them. The girls could be posting a new episode everyday and they'd still be complaining that it's not enough. Even in the comments of completely different shows they're getting angry because they're daring to upload something that isn't HxH. It happens in the Patreon comments often too, but YouTube is a whole other level.

Rynsen

Thats exactly what i dont like, in the beginning they are saying they are heartless people and if you kill one of them your allowed to get their place but then they care about their commrades. Either you state from the beginning or you make them badass and heartless. Im no a fan of saying one thing but then they act different

Jestaaaa

Girls! Some people (a lot of them) on YouTube are complaining because you don’t communicate with them with the uploads and stuff 😭

Joaquín Calderón

One of the best episodes ever.

Merijn

I don't know what movie you guys are talking about but if I found out my girlfriend named her dog after her ex-boyfriends penis I'd have feelings about it. lol I bet she says things like eat up, dig in, come here. And you know she's petting it, and rubbing it all the time, bathes it. All her friends love it too.

Shivering King Banana

Its genius writing as well considering those are personality traits of his nen category

Ellis Downer

Chrollo is considered the head of the spider, so 12 legs plus one head.

I can explain. Certain characters in manga/anime have contradicting traits which makes them compelling to the viewer. If the writer wants to make a character appealing they add one contradicting character trait. Very simple trick but with maximum effect. Examples: Hisoka: guy with an "questionable" interest in prepubescent little boys expressed in the most creepy way =/= only character which shows healthy sexual interest in an adult female expressed in a wholesome and charming way Gon: innocent happy-go-lucky country boy with a straightforward simple mindset =/= Machiavellian vengeful predator Killua: cold and calculating assassin =/= innocent kid who just wants to have a normal childhood Sometimes this effect can be achieved in an instant, like how the girls reacted when they heard Alphonse's voice for the first time in FMA. You can also apply the same tactic to the series as a whole like you pointed out. Lure the viewer into thinking they're following a story about a boy going on an adventure to find his father, have everything then revolve around a completely different character and his path of vengeance. It wouldn't have worked the same if the series started off with Kurapika from the get-go. You need to lure the viewer into a false sense of normality then shock them with something completely unexpected. Given enough time the viewer will probably end up figuring out everything. Therefore in order to keep ahead of the audience you constantly have to throw in curve balls.

Orr Malus

Just to be clear, Phinks (the blonde guy that breaks people necks with his hands) and the mummy guy with boxing gloves are two different characters. Phinks does sometimes wears egyptian clothes similar to a Pharaoh, not sure why they said mummy here, maybe it's a mistranslation.

MaxVSTheGames

What got me about the Troupe is that they care about each other. Too often villain groups in HQ/cinema/anime treat each other with contempt, the common "if he died, then he was trash" Not the Troupe. Its like a evil version of the mugiwaras. You mess with one of them, they will f you up.

Viktor Araujo

I agree. Its hard to describe what it is about Chrollo that makes him so compelling. He's incredibly smart but doesn't gloat his intelligence. He's a great manipulator but doesn't push beyond the goal. He is utterly and efficiently ruthless when its required, but genuinely cares about the Troupe members and is capable of empathy. He's also weirdly one of the hottest male characters in a way that's hard to pin. This arc is where I went from enjoying the show to be being completely hooked. The early episodes are really necessary but this to me is where the show truly transcends into something greater than a shounen. And this is an episode in which they finally show their cards. They show what this story is truly capable of. Expect the show to continue to shock and compel you down the line like this episode.

David Holmes

This is one of my favorite episodes. Kuroro is wild. I can't vizualize a more disturbing and beautiful power than Indoor Fish. You don't feel physical pain, but it fucks with your mind that you are being eaten alive and you can't even die to stop it. Brutal.

Max__

Yeah now it’s safe to watch.. you know this OP fits more with this arc than the OP that we got in the 2011 version lol If there is one critique about the 2011 is the fact that OP really never changes which is a bit annoying.

Jack SV

Magnificence!

Rodrigo Figueroa

The girls were speechless
