When Lucy and David were laying on the bed together, they were both experiencing a shared VR experience called a "brain dance", or BD for short. BDs are recordings of other people's experiences that can be shared electronically. In the very first episode, David was experiencing a BD of the cyberpsycho incident that had only happened a few hours before. Lucy shared a BD of being on the Moon with David.
