Demon Slayer is the perfect amount of episodes, like less than 50. One Piece has over 1000, it's the best. Their loss but 2 episodes a week isn't going to cut it for OP. Demon slayer is so f'ing good. I was wondering why their manga was selling so much, I was only familiar with the first two seasons. But what was going one was basically Avengers Endgame type stuff with an 80 percent casualty rate. I think they're going to have to release a few theatrical movies for upcoming arcs. I definitely see a billion and a half in worldwide gross if it's at least two movies. (Infinity train made 500 million worldwide) Of course, they still need to release TV series too. But the beginning where Muzan appears, and the very end of DS should be theatrical films.

The issue I have with Fargo is it's fiction. Why do they have to say 'based on a true events.' Everything is made up why not try to have a show based on it's merits of their fiction.

The thing about the Wire is it didn't age well. It was fascinating at the time it aired, but don't think nowadays Big cities would put all that effort in solving crime and catching criminals at this level. It's all about defunding the police. Even the change of pace season that deals with the issue of 'unions' seems kind of dated. But definitely worth watching at least once.

Can't speak for other people but every time I've tried to watch Fargo I've found the pacing to be completely screwy to the point it's unwatchable - and I liked Devs, I can cope with screwy pacing. Like I said can't speak for others but me personally..

Why is Fargo always so underrated? It's amazingly well written and never too heavy. I'd put it a smidge behind Mr. Robot and Attack on Titan but seasons 1-3 are absolutely perfect. Plus it is an anthology series so every 10 episodes you get a new cast, setting, etc. although they tie into each other a bit.

Moribito is perfect for them. I think it's like 30 episodes. I watched it three times. Definitely has a female lead. But I think it could be a rip off of Avatar. I haven't seen Avatar yet. But that director seems to borrow a lot of popular concepts, but I watch all his work. And that was when I was very primitive when it came to anime. I think ten years later I decided to build a solid base of popular anime knowledge and binged on every episode of Naruto, Dragon Ball, One Piece. Then moved on to Hunter X Hunter which is kind of a mid size one and one of the greats of course. I think Demon Slayer is perfect for them. I read the manga after season two, and these arcs get better and better. And lot of money reaction episodes. But future seasons are going to be great and then add to the fact that the animation studio is one of the best.

Not as long as they place extremely known shows on the polling lists beside Black sails sadly. For example someone here suggested Tge Sopranos which is very good but it’s also not a fair thing to place with Black sails as then the same thing as now would happen and there are many other really known shows that would have the same affect. Don’t keep your hopes up ok definitely not.

I have my own idea of a an anime I think they would enjoy but it doesn’t follow the female main character criteria but I feel it deserves a mention anyway. Cowboy bebop is one of those classics that hasn’t aged poorly at all and is still very rewatchable (obviously I’m talking about the anime) and is a anime I think they would like. It’s also not extremely long. Idk maybe bad idea but I think it deserves a mention.

I recently started watching it again and I'm still amazed at how this thriller squeezes so much story into so little time. Also, the world design by the mangaka is just awesome. Those little details were perfect even though he hadn't even visited the country.

@Ninaly I had rewatched Steins Gate a year ago, and I'm sorry to say but Steins Gate is really bad. It does have a large female character cast, but they are just a harem for the main male characters and have almost no character depth. They serve as objects that are permanently and repeatedly sexualized by Rintarou and Itaru. In addition, the dialogue is for the most part incredibly poorly written and is mired in clichés and weirdness. I feel quite badly about idol Faris and her moe culture, the sociophobic Moeka, who is at the same time a secret agent (Please what?) and trans girl Luka, who is constantly rejected by Rintarou for her innate gender while penetratingly repeating that she is a boy. Ultimately, the basic idea and big plot at the end being good enough to give the series its hype, but by today's standards, I would put Steins Gate very very low.

I was kind of embarrassed in season 2 for the low ratings, not because the show wasn't popular. I watch low rated shows and cheer for their renewal, like say 'The 100'(of course I didn't watch last season. A show LM reacted to.) It was that they were doing these live reaction shows with the cast and extensive theory show following new episodes of Mr Robot. So every week they'd get these lower and lower rating. I kind felt bad, because they're doing recap shows, that they do for Walking Dead and breaking bad, on a show that no one watches and won't be renewed. There were only a few recap shows folloing Mr. Robot, the big one was the season two premier, a few after that. Also by the end of season two I thought there was no master plan of the show and they were making it up as they went along.

IMO the main point in JJK's favor is its well-developed female characters which in anime isn't the most common thing. I'm sure they'd appreciate that. However I do think that they may only like but not love it, I think the first season is uneven story and pacing wise. I think its tone varying so wildly doesn't quite work as well as it does in something like FMAB, but it has lots of cool stuff– I just don't know if it's the type of thing that they'd be super into or not. I could be wrong, we'll see!

I agree with the "Barry" suggestions, great show. Leftovers is also tremendous. Season 1 is quite slow but it gets much, much better. A show that much lighter viewing -- "Nathan For You" If you're at all into cringe/awkward comedy.

I didn't think much of Mr. Robot either after 2 seasons. But I'm watching in full now alongside L+M and I've changed my mind. It is not a mediocre show. It is a very good show. Ratings have no bearing on the quality of the show. It deserved a bigger viewership but being on USA Network hurt it.

From that list of shows The Wires is the clear favorite. But is it right from them. I'd say one of the top modern drama TV shows. Think Sporanos or even Mad men could be more univeral reaction material if they're viewing 'top modern TV dramas'. They actually watched all four seasons of Mr Robot so they have high tolerance for completing even mediocre shows. I watched first two seasons of Mr Robot, took a while to get through season two. Personally i've always found The Wire extremely overrated. I'm not saying it's bad or anything it is still a decent show in it's own right. Yeah unfortunately a lot of shows on “premium” channels in the early 2000’s up to 2010’s did that. They try to reach a bigger audience by presenting sex and action the first season or so but then writers are given a bit more free reign to flesh things out a bit without all the T&A. GOT was the big one around that time

Okay, here’s my pitch for Black Sails for anyone who is voting and maybe hasn’t seen any of these shows. To begin with, Black Sails is only four seasons, so it’s shorter. It’s often compared to Game of Thrones, as it was coming out at the name time, but they aren’t really all that similar aside from in vague terms. (For one thing, Black Sails isn’t fantasy). Though, Both have very complex characters who often do terrible things. Both deal with the ramifications of leadership and politics for where the characters live. And both have a lot of really great actors. However, in my opinion Black Sails ultimately tells its story in a much better way. It’s writing is gorgeous - there isn’t a character on the show who doesn’t at least get one good monologue. The themes it explores would give way to a lot of discussion - it’s not another show that just takes place in the U.S. and deals specifically with its issues: Black Sails is set in the 1700s and was primarily filmed on location in South Africa. It has amazing practical effects including actual ships that were built for the actors to walk on. Okay, and this last bit is in ROT13, it’s a vague spoilers that doesn’t name who it involves or when, but IS something LM and a lot of people in this community would be interested in. I think its honestly because The Wire isnt as good as a reaction type show as Black Sails. Granted i have not finished The Wire either but it feels a bit more procedural than something like Black Sails if that makes sense. I only saw S1 of The Wire tho

This is such a treat! The Wire should honestly be shown in Highschool classrooms everywhere even outside of the US. Every aspect of a single city is broken down for the audience and we get to see why so many patterns of suffering and inadequacy emerge
