Vanilla RTX v1.7.8 Release

This update brings variety of quality updates along with full support for new 1.20 content.

Vanilla RTX & Vanilla RTX Normals v1.7.8 Changelogs:

Originally, this update was planned to arrive this November, that was assuming Minecraft v1.20 content isn't going to be seen in-game for at very least a month after Minecraft Live.
I also mentioned in a previous post that what I should be focusing on solely depends on Minecraft releases.
Around 40% of the changes I had in mind for this update are already complete & included, the rest will arrive in near future.
Early arrival of newer blocks had me releasing this update sooner, which I believe is what most players would want, support for newer Minecraft versions, going forward you can expect more minor releases.

What's next?
Expect McRTX Tweaks patch's rework to arrive, soon.

perfect, that worked... Seems like a minecraft bug, not a bug with your pack... I will join the discord. Thanks for your help!

That is a reoccurring Minecraft issue, I've provided detailed instructions for a workaround at the Vanilla RTX Discord: Open Minecraft's settings file by copy & pasting the address below into windows file explorer's address bar: C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\games\com.mojang\minecraftpe\options.txt A text file will open, find gfx_raytracing:1 Change 1 to 0 and try opening the game again, go to your resource packs menu and make sure Vanilla RTX is activated. Head to Video Settings and turn on Ray Tracing, then join your world. If you find this frustrating to do every time (in case you forget to turn ray tracing option off before closing the game), I've also created a small tool (RTXCrashFix) that automates all the steps above. I leave it here too: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1014882812337332274/1070016038789468220/RTXCrashFixFiles.zip (Make sure you have .NET 6.0 Installed) Just have the folder lying around somewhere, click the RTXCrashFix.exe before launching the game & you should never encounter crashes again.

Thank you! Also I am running into an issue (running windows 11, latest non preview patch, and a 3070). I can load the mod to my server, log in one time it works perfectly.. Then every time thereafter I join the game it crashes the app.. I am suspecting it is caching something? Not sure.. I may be missing something simple.

Hi, you can download both, but use only one at a time. This gif can help you understand the difference between the two: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1045014388035309578/1045014388706390176/Compare_animated.gif

Quick question, what is the difference between the 2 downloads? do I have to download both packs? I am using bedrock

Hi, that is a game bug: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE-162445 Only solutions right now are either rolling back to an older Minecraft version or waiting for a future Minecraft update. (You can use tools like Bedrock Launcher to access older MC versions bedrocklauncher.github.io) Update: this should be fixed in Minecraft 1.19.41

CubeIR

hello, I love this pack but small question. Why is it so bright at night as if it were daytime?
